thirty five

Third Person POV:

Julia walks up to the house that she used to enter everyday, the one that she walked out of a little over a week ago because she found out her husband cheated on her.

julia looks at the house, almost feeling heart broken, but also joy that this is where she raised her family.

she lightly knocked on the door, hearing her children's laughs inside made her heart ache and fill all at the same time. she hears the doorknob jiggle and then it reveals phoenix behind the door.

"mommy!"

she opens the screen door and engulfs her little boy in her arms; him doing the exact same. "phoenix! I told you don-" she hears daniels heavy feet run across the floor and she looks up seeing him stare down at her in shock.

"hey bub, why don't you go in the room with your sisters?" julia runs her hands over phoenix's cheeks and he smiles running away into the other room.

the couple stood there just looking at each other, trying to hold the tears back.

"hey-"

"hey-"

the both speak at the same, both laughing at themselves. julia rocks on the back of her feet; and daniel stands there— still feeling ashamed of himself.

"I miss you" daniel says to her

julia looks up at him with tears aligning her eyelashes, knowing she feels the same but can't speak.

"i'm sorry. for everything"

"i'm sorry that I didn't choose you the first time, i'm sorry I chose her over you when you were always there for me. being here alone, when you left that night. it helped me realize how important you are too me, and how shitty my life would've been if i didn't have you or the kids in it. you gave me my three little worlds, I can never stop loving you because of that. never. when I kissed you for the first time... I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I would do anything for you, rain or shine."

julia couldn't speak, she just had tears running down her face.

"I love you so fucking much julia"

julia runs up and hugs her husband, him hugging back immediately; enjoying the feeling of holding his wife again. she picks her head up from his shoulder and presses her lips to his, feeling like it was their first all over again

the couple pulled away from the kiss, leaning their foreheads on each other's, smiling widely. daniel brings his hands up to cup his wife's cheeks and wipes away the falling tears.

"I love you so much daniel"

daniel starts to cry.

all of the sudden, the lovely couple hears their children running down the hallway, deja having running a little slower because she has anthem in her arms.

"mommy!"

julia picked up her little girls, and daniel picked up his little boy; all of them joining in a big group hug; almost like healing the cut that was placed upon their home just a week ago.

"after every storm comes a rainbow" julia whispers.
