Theo

“Yes” he stepped forward without hesitation, before any of my fellow  quest mates could speak. “I will take on the honour.” This could mean we didn’t need to fight all of our battles alone, Theo thought. Also it was pretty damn cool getting to chill with the gods and have a chat once in a while.

Zeus stared him in the eye. “Very well. Thank you Theodore.” He stood to the side as one by one the others pledged their allegiance. The gazes of more than one immortal were upon him.

Everyone had underestimated him from the start.

No, he wasn’t funny like his Dad.

Or kind like his Mom.

Or a mechanic.

Or a gardener.

He was a soldier. A fighter. Different to his parents. Defiant.

No one could have expected that.

Once that had been sorted they each took their seats at the table and the meeting commenced. He listened as Athena and Zeus blabbed on about plans for the future that were a little tedious.

The only one listening was Annabeth after all.

Once in a while Calypso would pat his head or kiss his cheek as to remind herself that he was there.

His father wouldn’t stop smiling at him.

Honestly it was nice but a little suffocating considering everything they had been through. He just wanted to relax with Isla.

His brown eyes met Poppy’s dark green and she smiled knowingly. Once he had crushed on her, but now he had matured and realised that she was not the girl for him. But she was still pretty even with streaks of soot in her blonde high ponytail and baggy unflattering clothing.

“Thank you all for coming” Athena stood. “Demigods you will want to return to camp now and we will get you there swiftly. But first I think you need a well deserved prize. For your efforts we have granted a two week break from any fighting or quests or monsters before we will prepare ourselves, as a council, to rid the world of evil.”

Theo raised a brow. That was rather generous for the gods. A two week break - he didn’t think he had had a break in his entire life. From the minute he was born he had been trained up to fight. He caught Poppy’s eye again and gave her a thumbs up.

“Right” Percy stood. “Come on kids, it’s time to go home.”

There was a scraping of chairs as thirteen got up and left the room. They made their way to the balcony nearby. It looked over New Rome, and he could see all the way to the coast. Then Jason swirled his hand and they were all whisked away into the wind.

                                                             ---

It was a big welcome at their arrival home. Isla ran up to him and kissed him. His body soared and he felt amazing. He noticed Raven and Luke also kissing even though they hadn’t been separated the whole trip.

Hestia and Sandy were embraced by their siblings, Dalus looked super happy and he was squashed into a hug by his whole family. Percy and Annabeth looked very proud. Luke joined them a while later.

Tom and Poppy also hugged and then Piper wouldn’t let her daughter leave her side. Jason rolled his eyes at his wife in a loving way.

Raven then sat with her parents, and they all laughed. At one point she was squashed by Clara and Sam.

Then there was him. He introduced his parents to Isla then spent the rest of the time wandering around camp enjoying being back. The rolling green hills and shining blue lake were a welcoming sight. Even when an Ares camper slapped him on the back he was still happy.

A girl approached him. She wore a camp t-shirt and black nike shorts. Her hair was in a loose ponytail,

“Sophie” he welcomed her.

“You made it” she smiled. “I knew you would. Did my present help?”

He nodded. “It was really good.” Tom approached them from a distance. He waited until the brown haired boy had wrapped his arm around his girlfriend.

“Theo! Good to see you in one piece.” He grinned.

Theo smiled back, but suddenly felt a bit of an intruder so excused himself and went and sat in a tree in the woods.

Soon enough a familiar figure scrambled up to join him.

“Hey” she placed a kiss on his lips as she leaned her head on his shoulder.

“Hey.” They were silent for a peaceful while.

“Thank you” he spoke finally.

“For what?” she asked, confused.

Looking into her perfect face he sighed blissfully.

“For being you.”
