Daedalus' POV
He pondered on his parent's words a little as a rope ladder lowered. Go meet your destiny? What did that have to do with anything?
He was first to start ascending, hooking hands and feet into rungs. Dalus secretly hoped they didn't expect him to be like his father. Everyone thought they were the same, when in fact they weren't. People liked to assume he was brilliant at swordplay and not so smart, and that his twin Luke was the opposite. In actual fact he was the smart one; he just liked cracking witty jokes and being loud. While Luke was silent and deadly with a sword. So he hoped he didn't have to live up to someone's expectations.
He glanced down below at the rolling hills of Camp Jupiter, and the buildings in between that he had called home. Not anymore. That was his past. He could feel it.
So instead he let his sea green eyes wander up to the ship. It was only a couple of meters ahead now. What would wait? He didn't procrastinate any longer, and scrambled up to the top and over onto the deck.
His first impression was that the Argo II was even more impressive than he'd thought. It seemed that Uncle Leo had given it an upgrade since his parents had been on it. There was a vast display of weaponry on deck, and it looked like the whole area had been decorated with imperial gold.
Then he saw the people. There were four in total, three kids and one adult. The adult stood at the wheel and gave him a wink as he looked his way. Uncle Leo maybe? He vaguely recognised the trademark curly hair and cheeky grin. And the kids, two boys and one girl. One boy was quite tall with dark brown cropped hair and electric blue eyes. He gave a friendly smile as their eyes met. The other boy was short with reddish brown curls and brown eyes. His orbs looked everywhere but at Dalus. Last was the girl. Her platinum blonde hair was up in a straight ponytail. She had dark green eyes that stared with challenge as they met his own. Oh yeah, and she was pretty without trying.
"Dalus!" Uncle Leo came over and ruffled up his hair. "It's been a long time! Go meet your cousins...hey Hestia!" Daedalus knew they weren't his blood relatives, but his parents had a lot of close friends that they considered family. He tried to look confident and put on a smile as he went up to his 'cousins'.
"Tom" the tall boy held out his hand, grinning. "You're Dalus right? I think we're going to get on well."
Instantly relaxing, Dalus quipped; "I still have to decide whether I like you yet."
Tom laughed. "Well I hope you do."
Moving along the line, he came upon the short curly haired boy. "Hi I'm Dalus. Are you Uncle Leos son?" The boy nodded slowly. "I'm Theo." He didn't seem shy, just wary. Dalus wondered why, after all Leo and Calypso were pretty laid back people.
Last of course, was the blonde girl. "Poppy" she said, then raised an eyebrow. "It's interesting to finally meet you Daedalus." No one knew his full name. Apart from her obviously. And his parents and siblings, but seriously. Then he smiled and said; "Likewise Penelope." It was a shot in the dark, but it worked as a slight line came between her two brows. Then he turned and waited for the rest of his family to arrive. Everyone was greeting the kids. Dad, Mom and Uncle Leo all had an expression on their faces like they needed to talk about something, but we were standing in their way. Hestia apparently saw this to, because she turned to Tom.
"Why don't you show us around?"
