I really love to write the emotional stuff. I also like to see you guys comment, to see if I can improve or if you like it in general. Thanks to the people that already comment!

"If only he had a friend, if only he had told Dream what was going on... all the pain that follows up, would have been avoided."

I can be the good guy, too.

Nightmare looked to the bright side of the tree, eyes sparkling with a distant hope. He could do it. He could be the best good guy that the universe had ever known.

Yes, he was desperate. That was exactly what egged him on. Desperation and exhaustion and anxiety and sadness. He was at the end of his line, and if he didn't do something the townspeople would surely kill him at some point.

Nightmare and Dream both knew that if either one of them were to perish, the consequences would be disastrous.

A few minutes passed with Dream feeding the poor man more happy feelings, slowly and steadily. After those minutes, the ailing patient had changed.

The man on the bed was smiling now, for the first time in a very long while. His eyes, now open, sparkled with hope.

"Thank you," he whispered, his smile never falling. "Thank you so much. I..." He took a breath. "I never thought I would smile again."

Dream felt an immense satisfaction and happiness when the man looked at him and thanked him. He always felt this way after helping someone, whether a little child or a man like this. It was just so... right.

Eyes never leaving the golden fruits, Nightmare slowly made his way to the other side of the tree. The positivity brushed up against his aura, whittling it down bit by bit. Of course, the happiness never made past his shell.

His aura was simply too thick, built up over time spent hiding between the roots of the tree, hiding from the entire world that hated you and wanted you dead.

To Nightmare, the golden fruits were a promise of safety. A solid promise of happiness and laughter, a hope-to-die swear that he would never be abused or hit or cut again.

Never again.

Never again...

As Dream made his way out of the slightly crowded house, he slipped his hand into Aubrey's. She smiled softly at him, and they walked to the doorstep of her house.

After s few minutes of just sitting there in comfortable silence, the little yellow bunny finally broke the quiet. "Dream?" She asked, eyes never leaving the robin's egg blue sky.
