(Time skip a few weeks brought to you by Dream's blossoming flower crowns)

Dream woke up to the sound of laughter.

It was a wonderful sound, really, the sound of kids having fun. It filled him with positive energy. And positive energy was converted to real energy for him.

The golden apples hung on the branches around Dream, ripe and glistening gold. They were full to the brim with positive energy, with enough power to conquer a universe. But who would want to do that?

Dream hummed to himself as he fastened his boots. Today he was going to go out into the growing town and meet some new people. See some new things. Have fun! He might be able to take along Nightmare...

Dream hesitated. Nightmare never really was a social person, even though they had barely seen any sort of mass moving life around the tree until now. He always kept to himself, reading high up in the branches of his side of the tree. No matter how many times Dream tried, Nightmare simply would not 'play' with other people. He just wasn't that kind of person. Dream had always been much more outgoing, taking advantage of the times when they did have a visitor.

Speaking of...

"Dream? Are you up there?" Aubrey called up into the tree. She rocked back and forth on her feet, her blonde fur gently waving in the wind. Aubrey's father had sent for more people to come around the tree, saying that it was much safer and fertile here than back at home. Although her family was all work, Aubrey was not.

The two had grown closer over the past week, meeting almost every day to talk, make flower crowns, and play with the really little ones. They had created quite the nice friendship.

Dream jumped down from the tree, sliding down the side and landing on his feet. Walking up to Aubrey, he put on a smile and asked, "Has your family finished setting up the tents yet?"

Aubrey simply giggled and took his hand, leading him away from the tree and into the small growing group of tent and people. "We've been making some progress," she smiled, pointing at the medium sized sky blue tent in the near middle. "That one's ours," Aubrey whisper to Dream. He smiled wider and followed her down to the blue tent.

Aubrey flounced inside with Dream close behind. Her family was still out setting up more tents, and the inside of the tent was fairly spacious for such a scrawny thing.

"Wow. What is this thing?" Dream asked, brushing his digits against the cloth. He had never seen something like this before. A huge triangle shaped house that was made of cloth, and could be transported? Even Nightmare, with all his books of knowledge, had never read about that to him!

Wait. Nightmare didn't come with me. Where—

"Dream! Dream!" Aubrey's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. "We came here all the way from..." Her face scrunched up in thought, trying to think of where they came from. "... From very far away!"

Dream's eye sockets widened. They came all this was just to see him and the tree? They must have really been hoping to find him or something.

"Also, this 'thing.'" Aubrey said, doing air quotes with the word 'thing,' "Is our relative's best tent. It's super tough, and has lasted for a super super long time! And," Aubrey whispered to him, a smiled on her face, "We might bring some other stuff from our old home to live here! For a super long time!"

Dream's golden eyes turned to little stars as he asked "What else do you have from your town!?" It sounded too good to be true, that they might be moving here forever.

And so Aubrey And Dream spent at least the next two hours together, talking about all sorts of things. Books they've read, flowers they've picked, their families, what they loved.

But not once did Dream think of Nightmare, nor did Aubrey ask.

Not once did one of them care for the other brother.

Not once did either, or anyone else, think of the poor spirit in the tree, waking up almost screaming from yet another bad dream.

She put down her hands from yet another chapter done. She wondered as she leaned back in her bed what the readers would think, now that she updated around a month after her last update.

Her phone was low on battery, and she was up at 10 pm trying to finish a hopeless, nonexistent promise to her readers, that she would finish this, no matter the trials.

A million thoughts ran through her head at once.
They hate you
You haven't updated in forever
Why don't you just delete the book—

She slammed her head into her pillow. She had to sleep now, or be deprived the next day. She couldn't just let her thoughts wander to oblivion.

She at least hoped this time there would be more commenters.

She loved the commentary, knowing that there were people out there.

At least she had finished a chapter.

And she was going to try another.
