The hospital let me go a few days ago, with the order of rest and liquids for a few days. I feel fine now, a small headache but nothing else. I have to go to work, Erik has to go to work, but apparently Sydney and Daryl are on Erik's side and personally told me that he can take all the time he needs until I get better. I said it was stupid in a few choice words.
Somehow I convinced Erik that he should go to the cafe and check if Sydney and Daryl needed any help. Jackie had called me earlier and said she wanted to meet with me. That it was important. Erik wouldn't have let me go, insisted she come over. But it felt weird having her to a place I'm living in with someone she has told me would be cute as my boyfriend. So, I told her to meet me at a restaurant down the street.
"Jackie, hey," I breathe out, not used to walking for the past few days. I take a seat across from her and take a seat. "How have you been? How's college going for Danny? I haven't heard from him since the hospital." She takes a deep breath and looks up at me. Her eyes are bright pink and puffy, like she'd been crying. "What's wrong?"
"I, um, I messed up," she whispers, looking down at her clasped hands on the table. I lean forward, fearing the worst. "So, so--" she clears her throat. "At the hospital, I had gotten sick and Danny had me checked out by a doctor. It was--was a woman and she--she, uh, asked me some. . .stuff. After I answered them, she took a special test and it came back positive." She looks like she wants to cry but because she had been crying before, she could only shake. My eyes start to water and my hands start shaking.
"Jackie, please just tell me," I whisper, knowing what she was about to say in my gut but not wanting to believe it.
"Noa I-" she cuts herself off, swallowing thickly. "I'm pregnant."

Hey, everyone! I'm sorry for not uploading on time lately but I've kind of hit a bad writer's block with this story. I kind of want to rewrite the whole story since the story line might be a little confusing. This chapter also might be changed but I just got an amazing idea for where the story can go from here and I think I kinda love it.
