I do not own Naruto characters. All credits or character goes to Masashi Kishimoto.

This is an AU. There are some slight changes to the characters. Hinata is not a full time housewife but also trains Chunins. In this timeline, Boruto is 16 years, Hinata and Naruto almost 40.

Boruto had ended his training with his sensei, Sasuke. As he was dusting of his pants, a blue marble reflected its light into his eye so he finished the last of his dusting to walk over and pick it up. The marble was nothing special at first but once Boruto spun it, its colour changes.

'Cool! A mood marble! Kinda like one of those mood rings.' Delighted, Boruto kept the marble in his pocket, claiming the object as his own.

Todays' training with Sasuke was new. He mentor taught Boruto a new technique using his very own Katana. A gift Sasuke gave as a congratulation present on being a Jonin. Boruto was esthetic, now he could mimic Sasuke's style of clothing, he always thought it was much cooler wearing all black.

The training left Boruto breathless, not because he didn't have the stamina but using a new katana was harder than it looks. Not to mention an additional weight but all of that would not be a hindrance once he'd finally master it. The sun was seen to be setting as the clouds show a bright orange and pink colour. Sasuke dismissed Boruto from their training and the two went their separate ways, leading back home.

Again as before, Boruto leapt from tree to tree, rooftop to rooftop, he slowed down his pace once he was able to see the roof of the Uzumaki residence. Standing at the front door, Boruto remembered saying to his dad he wanted to see him for dinner. Just as he opened the door, his hyperactive younger sister came crashing into him with a hug, similar to one his father gave this morning.

"Welcome back onii-chan!" Himawari shrieked into Boruto's ear causing him to flinch at the pitch and ringing in his ear.

"What's got you so worked up tonight? It's only me." Seeing his little sister jump for joy amused him. She is always as energetic as ever. A trait the both of them have in common only he's too shy to show it all at once.

"Welcome back." Boruto was expecting it to be his mother but his facial expression change when he saw his father standing just a few meters front of him, wearing a not so manly apron.

B: "Didn't expect to actually see you here. Thought work was busy and more important." Boruto saying sarcastically.

N: "Eh, not like yesterday's hustle. Not many meetings and just few 'minor' documents. So I took your advice and got Konohamaru on it. Be honest, I really didn't think I'd do it." Naruto told his son with a hint of surprise in his voice.

Boruto grazed his father's arm and chuckled. The duo smiled and walked back into the kitchen to see Hinata preparing a feast for dinner in the Uzumaki residence. The family of four sat together for the first time in weeks enjoying their food. Laughter and joy filled the atmosphere with loud voices echoing. The night for the Uzumaki's today was definite a bliss, Boruto got to finally see his mother's face lit up brighter than before as his father stuck around her like glue. As the time flies, Boruto's aching muscles told him he needed a good night rest, thus he walked up to his room whilst holding the marble the founf on the ground that evening. He slumped onto his bed and continue to observe the glass object, unlike at his training ground, the marble was now a light shade of yellow. He assumed it changed colour according to his moods considering he was much happier tonight.Laying peacefully on the bed, he thought back about his day, not only did he received a new Katana from Sasuke but his dad actually accepted his proposal who is now probably being all lovey dovey with his mom downstairs. The sight for him is too much to be seen. Nonetheless, Boruto chuckled when a question came to mind. 'What happens if his parents were separated or worst either one of them were 'gone'?'
