The fresh Konoha air blew by past the two as they were in their track suits, Boruto having to borrow Naruto's old ones of course. They had a run around Naruto's old training ground, did some training before they decided to walk towards the restaurant Boruto requested back home.
They went in sweaty and sat back at the same seats they had just few days ago. Naruto was fascinated at how strong Boruto really is, his muscles may not show much but his strength is definitely there. The way he punched Naruto without mercy in his gut made him wince like a sad puppy.
Flashback
Naruto had to put in extra chakra to hit his son but Boruto was a tad bit faster. The younger blonde manage to predict his next move after he activated his Jougan. Parts of his body had marks coming out and glowed blue up until his eyes, starting from his hand.
Naruto could not let Boruto defeat him just yet thus he deactivated 'child play' mode and went in full force. Giving hits to Boruto that were just too strong. His punches and kicks were at Kage level and he wasn't using any more chakra than he did.
However, Boruto was smart, like the young kunoichi his mother was, he took hits after hits from Naruto, reading his movements before the would counter back. Realising Naruto kicks harder with his right leg, he used his Byakugan, a kekkei genkai passed down from his mother's side to paralyse Naruto's attack leg. The orang Hokage, whom everyone thought was unbeatable, fell to the ground, grunting in agony.
Boruto smirked and congratulated himself for being able to immobilise his opponent, his dad. However, their fight was not over yet as Naruto has more up
his sleeve. Being an expert in the shadow clone jutsu and a man with large chakra reserve, a mere numbness in his leg could not bring him down. Naruto made a few more shadow clones that fell atop of Boruto once they appeared. Boruto struggled to release himself from the huge pile of clones sitting on him while Naruto popped his leg back to how it was before Boruto got him.Using his lightning release, Boruto electrified Naruto's clones, eliminating them instantly. The move took Naruto by surprise. Not only does he have the Jougan and Byakugan but he's natural chakra release includes lightning? Naruto was overjoy
with everything that's happening before him. It was a sight to behold and quite a challenge compared to
his other Konoha shinobies, who he trains on certain occasions. They weren't weak nor are they unfit and unreliable but Boruto was just different. The younger blonde emanated a strong killing intent whenever he is serious which made Naruto shudder when he felt it.Boruto turned his lightning bolt into a zapping blade, one only he can touch without being injured. 'Gosh this boy is not playing around' Naruto thought as he made his famous rasengan using wind release. "Boruto...I thought this was 'light' training. I didn't think you'd actually use 'light'ning. Get it?"
Naruto laughed as Boruto shook his head, rolling his eyes. "Don't worry dad...this is light training..." Naruto could feel Boruto's confidence from a mile away. Both men took their stance before proceeding to engage. Naruto can't underestimate him, not only is he a smart shinobi but a ninja with many advantages. If others were to fight him, they'd probably ended up bandage if he fights this seriously all the time. However, this is not the case for Naruto. He is Hokage. A man who saved his village and world from annihilation and destruction.
It didn't take ling until the two was screaming their throats out. Naruto pushed his rasengan towards Boruto, who blocked it with his lightning sword. Both grunted, each other pushing their weapons towards one another. Regardless if they are son and father, this fight is something they needed to get their minds off things, including this morning. Both their impact made a huge explosion, Boruto and Naruto tumbled backwards.
The ground shook a little and dust clouded their visions. Boruto, with his Byakugan and Naruto, activating Sage mode continued to battle in the thick fog. Naruto felt somewhat familiar with Boruto's style of fighting until it hit him. Boruto did mention he trains with Sasuke so that would explain the use of a 'sword'.
This time, there was not special use of ninjutsu, just pure combat. Boruto made the first move, throwing a kunai that Naruto swiftly grabbed by the handle. He threw it back into his son's direction and heard clanking sounds made. Probably from dodging his kunai. Naruto could sense his chakra but Boruto could see Naruto's chakra points, allowing him to tell if his dad is close or not.
He was about to make his attack when he fell to the ground after feeling a hard kick on his back. Boruto cursed and manage to get back on his feat. Feeling annoyed with the fog in the way, Boruto made a vortex, sucking out the dust particles, making Naruto visible once more. With a kunai in his hands, he ran and strikes Naruto first towards the stomach. Naruto slapped the kunai with both his hands, stopping them before they could penetrate his skin.
"All out?" Naruto asked and Boruto nodded. "Okay then...we'll see..." Naruto said as he used his strength to crack the kunai. Naruto kicked the teenager in the stomach using his knees, making the boy grunt. "Come on Boruto. You were doing great." Naruto really meant it s a compliment but Boruto heard it like he was slightly mocking him.
"Shitty old man..." Boruto chuckled and Naruto frowned at the nickname his son gave him. They fought with Boruto blowing punches and kicks and Naruto dodging but landing attack at Boruto as well. It was a long rally till Boruto fell ok his knees from all that. He knows his father's strength is immense but even with the training he's had with Sasuke, maybe he can beat his Kage father. Boruto fell on his knees and wiped the sweat from his face.
"I can't beat you even in this kind of fight." Boruto whined but Naruto stumbled a little from that statement. "You actually gave me such a fight, I haven't felt so alive after a workout for years. About beating me, one day Boruto, one day."

The ate contently, devouring bowl after bowl, so fast the new waiter could not keep up with their order. Things slowed down when Boruto drank his soup, clearing his fifth bowl. "Wow...that was so much ramen. Too much I think." His stomach started to growl, grumbling with an unpleasant feeling. He may need to use the bathroom longer later on. Naruto on the other hand kept on going. Sipping his noodles unbothered by how much he's eaten.
"Dad...why did you push away the vegetables?" Boruto chuckled at how slowly Naruto turned his head with a guilty look on his face. "Hehe...cause they're r-raw?" Boruto slapped his father's back, choking him a little as he took a pair of chopsticks, picking up the carrot. Naruto shook his head like a child, "The dad that I know eats vegetables all the time. Mom makes them for him and he finishes it." That comment threw Naruto off. Thinking back, it is rather childish to act like he did in front of Boruto. Hence, reluctantly he picked up the crunchy carrot, biting into it with an unpleasant expression.
"Well, I'll be damn...there you guys are." The deep voice if someone familiar threw the two blonde men from their late breakfast. Standing by the cashier, Shikamaru stood beside a boy around the same height and age as Boruto, he wore a similar clothing to his father. The only contrast in his physical appearance are his green eyes.
"Shikamaru..." Naruto greeted, "oh and look, you brought Shikadai too." Boruto turned his chair around and stood up. He walked towards his best friends whom he hasn't seen for so long after his arrival here. Boruto engulfed Shikadai in a hug since he has been his friend when they were just toddlers. He looked physically the same as he remembered him but plastered nervous smiles once Boruto stood to properly face the two raven haired men.
"Dad told me...that you are Nanadaime's son, from a different world." he whispered softly only the four of them heard. Naruto turned to Shikamaru with a frown, "I apologise Naruto but Shikadai has been seeing you hang around the village with Boruto. I only confirmed his speculations.
Boruto turned to face the younger Nara boy, "You knew first?" Shikadai nodded, "You resemble the Hokage alot especially with your eyes, hair and whiskers, even the way you walk is similar. Furthermore, wearing Nanadaime's old clothes gave it away. Dad only told me where you actually came from."
"And what made you come here to meet me personally, Shikadai?" Boruto asked earnestly. "Well..., I just had a feeling I needed to see a friend."
