Naruto woke up on his couch to the smell of hot cocoa on his dining table. He sat up, scratching his head, then wiping his face from his tiredness, trying to ease his blurry eyes. He could see a silhouette walking and handing him the cup of cocoa.

"Here, you fell asleep for hours after we came back." Boruto places the cup in his hands. "I made hot chocolate, don't ask me why." Naruto took a sip from the drink and gave him a smile as thanks. The two walked in under the cloudy sky, both silent and when they return back to his house, Naruto was exhausted, he fell and slept. It was not until two hours later did he wake up.

"Um...thank you...,Boruto. I appreciate this." He raised his cup a bit. "No problem, I saw you shaking back at the cemetery. Telling me all that was rough on you huh?" Boruto asked. The room fell silent once more until Naruto finally answered.

"A little. Remembering those times is not exactly what I want to do. But I do need to tell you what happened, Boruto." Naruto straighten his back, gathering up the courage to speak more.

B: "You don't have to if it's too much. I'll let you rest more."
N: "No, I can do it. I want to tell you. Besides, you were supposed to be our son we never had."

Boruto was left speechless. Nevertheless, he let his father talk.

"Take all the time you need, dad."

Flashback

It was a month already after finding out about Hinata's tumour. Although her health was deteriorating, her spirit was strong. Naruto watched her as she moves slowly in their garden, admiring their scent as the moves along. It was a Sunday and a most appropriate time for the couple to be next to each other. As for Hokage duty, Naruto never slacked. He made sure his personal affairs never overlapped with work but fortunately everyone around him understood his situation and made things a lot easier for him. And he was grateful to them.

Since then, he was able to take Hinata to the doctor more often and see her and their child's development. Thankfully, so far there is no complications with his unborn child. Hinata on the other hand, was giving him worries. She told the doctor, secretly from him, that she has been having problems. Naruto frown that she would keep this from him but knows she does it with best intentions.

Many friends and family has been visiting the Uzumaki household and every time someone does come, Naruto would remind them to treat her like nothing's happened. Hinata has always put on a strong face and not show him signs of pain. He could tell she doesn't want to be treated any different but sooner or later, she'll have to accept it.

The baby bump was now very much visible than before. Naruto loves pulling Hinata close and stroke her bump lovingly. Sometimes, he would ask her if she could feel him kick yet and when he does, Naruto wants her to let him be the first to feel. After her or course. Naruto walked over to his wife, sitting on their porch, enjoying the evening breeze. He brought along a glass of apple juice and sat down next to her, taking her hand on his lap.

"What do you want to name the baby, Hinata?" She was surprised by the question. Hinata had been thinking of a few but nothing was right except one which reminded her of her own brother-like cousin. Hinata didn't give Naruto an answer but instead will tell him their child's name once he's born.

Naruto was hit by a sad feeling. Every time Hinata talks about the birth of their child, it reminded him of what happens next. The signs were already clear no matter how she tries to hide it. Her walk getting slower, her arms were thinner and everything couldn't get past Naruto. The nurses and medics are doing the best they can but it doesn't seem to be working much. He just hopes Hinata makes it to till the end.
