The two Nara men joined Naruto but not before the looked at them in disbelieve with the amount of bowls they had sitting on the table. This is no human eating as much heavy food in the morning. Shikadai slowly sat himself down next to a stool besides Boruto. The younger blonde could not be happier than to have his childhood best friend with him. Moerover, Shikadai did not react like how most did, instead he remained calm even when Boruto pulled him closer for their friendly hug.

Shikadai didn't say much, he just eyed Boruto while looking at the menu from time to time. In a matter of moments, curiosity got the best of Shikadai. He shifted in his seat, feeling uncomfortable from the urge to slam Boruto with all the obvious question. His cool demeanour no more, he was about to speak up when Boruto turned and stated what's boggling his mind. "You're also wondering how all this..." Boruto gestured to himself then spreading his arms outwards. "...became right?"

Shikadai nodded slowly, pushing the menu away after pointing his order to the waiter. "Best say it, I don't even know. Heh..." He scratched his ear, feeling embarrassed that he couldn't give Shikadai a specific answer. Like it was a natural reflex, Shikadai slapped Boruto in the arm for giving him suspense, all while he mouth 'troublesome'.

Boruto chuckled at his comment. Oh how he missed his friends. Even back home, he'd always meet up with Shikadai for a bite or just hanging around playing video games like his early teens. Not having people notice who he is cause he does not exist in this reality frustrates him. Being with Naruto all the time is great but he wanted to meet his friends, people besides his family who are a big part in his life.

Boruto knows this Shikadai has no memory of him. He pouted his lips and bit his inner cheek, "Hey...Shikadai...want to hang out later? I don't know maybe play the latest game? Like Shinobi  Striker 4? I'll need to get a new game console first" He felt the weight off his shoulders after releasing the tension between the two. It was nothing but Boruto didn't like how uncomfortable Shikadai looked even though he hides it well.

"Shinobi Striker 4? That'd be cool." Shikadai smiled thinly at the blonde. "But I'd much rather hang out with my other friends..." Boruto felt his chest tightened from his words, however, "...along with you Boruto. We could meet up at the barbecue downtown. The rest just got off from their mission and planned to meet up tomorrow night. Wanna join?"

His ear perked and heart soared. He felt sad at first when he thought Shikadai rejected his offer but his mood became much better instantly after he invited him to their outing. "Yeah! That'd be awesome!" Boruto yelled but apologised once the waiter told him to keep it down a little. "Thanks Shikadai."

"Kakashi sensei did that?" Naruto raised a brow with interest. Shikamaru nodded half-heartedly. "He got me to read a few pages. I think he did all that during his free time after hours. The man looked tired as though he's been up for so long." Naruto chuckled at his friend and advisor. "What was it all about?" The blonde asked, digging more information about this surprise. "The 4th Shinobi Great war, so far it looks great. He's telling parts where all four Hokages joined the battle, writing in detail..truth be told, I'm kind of anticipating it. The sixth is now a writer of sorts." Shikamaru said as he stretched his body, sitting properly on his stool.

"Maybe when it's done, it'll turn out huge. We all know how the last great war affected us all. Furthekre Kakashi was front line in the battle. Having him write his experience is vital. The younger generation could know what we all before them did to achieve what we have now." Naruto reminisce back those years when everyone and everything was in chaos. Their young bodies being thrown into battle not knowing whether they would survive against a enemy.
