"So...you are telling me, this kid, this teenager, who busted into your office yesterday is your kid? Like...you?" Shikamaru pointed to the Hokage, almost dumbfounded to find out the truth about Boruto.

"Yeah. I know, I-I know. It sounds crazy. Much crazy that he is actually mine and Hinata's!" Naruto told him with wide eyes as he paced around his office.

"That's not possible Naruto, you told me your son died before a-anything..." Shikamaru said in a lower tone, a hint of sadness at the memory.

"I haven't told you the whole story yet, Shikamaru. This boy, Boruto, is my son but he is from a different world. Another reality! A reality where Hina is still alive and well. That's where he came from!" The blonde man said with slight excitement making his advisor frown.

"How? A different reality you say? Don't you think—" He was cut short by Naruto saying,

"It's illogical? Yeah, I know but last night when we talk it all felt so real. His tone, his eyes, his body language told no lie. We talked for hours about his childhood. He told me, Hinata from his reality, trains Chunnins and that he has a little sister." Naruto sat down to calm himself. He rubbed his temples and chuckled.

"He even told me how I am in his reality. Me from that- that world." Naruto sighed along with his trusty right hand man. Boruto was waiting outside in the corridor as Naruto wanted to have this conversation alone. Before he did so, Naruto introduce Boruto to Konohamaru who, luckily, remembered him and didn't hold a grudge for disrespecting the Hokage yesterday. They made small talk as Naruto went back into his office.

"Did he by chance know how he got here?" Shikamaru crossed his arms together, putting on a serious face whilst leaning against the wall. "Maybe we can get him back before it's too late." Naruto faced Shikamaru and placed his hands onto his desk before pulling in a deep breath. "That's the problem now, he doesn't know how. All the said was he slept then woke up here, no jutsu performed before that, or scrolls read that may trigger it, none whatsoever. That frustrates me." Naruto scratched the back of his head to ease a little bit of tension.

"Then there's no choice, until we do, he'll be stuck here. And when he does, what happens in the other reality? Does it just stop or continue? Will time be differently, say he's here for days but in his reality, it's only hours?" Naruto shook his head, gesturing that he didn't know since this was the first time something like this happened. He continued to rub his temples as Shikamaru observed him.

"On the bright side, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity." The black haired advisor spoke up. "What?" Naruto question in confusion. Shikamaru rolled his eyes and smirked at the blonde man. "What I mean is, it's a miracle he came. A son. You should spend time with him while he's here. Take this chance. Being a dad is great, unfortunately you can't relate but maybe now you could. With him." He   gestured his shoulder towards the door. Naruto took a while to digest what he meant until it hit him.

True, Naruto had thought about letting Boruto stay in his house for the time being but it didn't cross his mind to use this opportunity to be a dad. 'After years of being alone'. Naruto cupped his mouth to hide his smile, yes, he'll do it.

"I think I need to see the kid again." Shikamaru said as he walked towards the door. "Bring him in." Naruto commanded. In a few moments, a younger blonde walked through the office door. Today he wore Naruto's old black mission jacket with black pants that fit him well. Shikamaru might have not realise it before but Boruto was a spitting image of Naruto and Hinata together.

"Uncle Shikamaru." Boruto greeted making the Hokage's advisor flinch a little in surprise. A smirk soon showed up, 'that felt new' he thought. "Okay let's get down to business. Boruto, how did you think you got here? Hokage-sama told me you don't know how but do you might know something?" Boruto frown at the question, he is now sitting on a chair facing the two adults.
