It was obvious that we weren't getting any further in this andhonestly sleep was starting to tug at me, demanding that I return toit. Normally if I was up this late, or technically early sincemidnight had come and gone, I was sipping chamomile tea of some kindor other to help me sleep.

The idea of tea sounded so good right now, something to calm mynerves from all this information. I didn't know what was worse;having a mummy in my home or that the mummy insisted that he knew memuch less that I was his lover.

However that did make me think of something, the fact that he hadgone thousands of years locked up in a sarcophagus, no food or drink.Of course I didn't know if mummies had to drink or eat but bothbecause now I thought about it I couldn't not offer it to him as wellas a small fear that instead he would eat my brains.

"Are you hungry?" I asked him and he looked surprised and despitea light coming into his eyes he grimaced.

"Some of your cooking sounds amazing but I don't think I could eat.I am just thirsty."

"Oh! I'll get you some water." I got up and headed to get a glassdrawing water from my fridge offering it to him as heslowly-hesitantly-to me and smiled. "It's okay, here; this to holdoff while I make something more. Something that will help yourthroat. Drink slowly so you don't hurt yourself." I added reachinginto the cabinet where I kept my teas and found the one made of greentea with slippery elm and licorice root. I kept it for when my throatwas bothering me and could tell by the inner struggle I could read inevery line of Kohmus's body that his was as well.

How his knees were slightly bent as he got some relief, the hard lineof his shoulders and his arms even fighting and shaking. He obviouslywanted to down the water as fast as he could but was listening to meand sipping it slowly. I hoped that the water would boil quickly so Icould brew the tea, for me I took a (favorite tea) as I was alreadyso sleepy that the chamomile tea might be too much. I didn't want tohave to struggle to wake up in the few hours I would need to forwork.

Glancing back I saw that he was almost done with the water and thoughI wanted to give him more I didn't want him to overfill on drink.Especially if I worried that it was important that I got some foodinto him. Luckily green tea is one of the faster seeping teas so Icould give him the tea to soothe his probably incredibly painful sorethroat.

I had to admit that I was impressed by him being able to drink thewater slowly. I had woken up more then once with my mouth having beenopen as I slept so my tongue enlarged by dehydration and I was sothirsty I chugged the water I got.

I couldn't wait to introduce him to sodas and juices and things thatwere new. If nothing else it would be interesting. But at the momentI had to worry about his throat being made better. "Thank youName," he thanked and he seemed so appreciative that I felt bad. Ijust had given him some water, and though I had the water boiling forsome tea, which it was right now and I quickly poured it into twomugs, placing the two tea bags in, taking a moment to breathe in thescent of the tea leaves as was something I always did.

Now I had to just wait three minutes for his tea to be ready and oncehe was drinking some I would get him a snack, it was good that I hadmade the bread just now and could give that to him. "What are yourtastes?" I asked and he blinked seeming to be confused and Irealized that it was probably a long time so I would have to give hima moment to think back that far. If he could even remember. Sure hecould remember Nerfert and their children but your love and childrenwere big things. What type of taste you had in food wouldn't be asbig of a deal.
