Chapter 8 - Falling
MONISHA SINGH
Even though they've had a couple rounds of sex as she had just said, Calvin's kiss wasn't anything like she had before.
Before this Calvin had been the kind of gentleman that made love to her. He had been gentle before but now, now he was owning her.
He was owning her and had probably ruined her for all the guys out there.
His hand snaked into her hair as he grabbed a handful and pulled. The slight pain made her scalp tingle and she gasped. He sucked on her lower lip and his tongue tangled with hers. He dominated her and Monisha hated to admit that she liked it. Loved it even.
She pulled back because if she continued, they would end up having sex right there on the table and as much as she would love to satisfy her sexual frustration, she didn't want to encourage Cal.
"Calvin" she muttered and he rested his forehead to hers. His eyes closed as heavy breath blew on her wet lips.
"Callum." he whispered.
"What?"
"Callum. That's my real name. "His eyes opened; his pupils dilated. The heat in his eyes shook her. He looked at her with so much passion that Mon was sure that it would consume her.
"I may be Calvin for others but I want to hear my name on your lips."
"Callum" she whispered. She couldn't deny him this. Not at this moment at least.
He groaned, "What're you doing to me Mon?"
She closed her eyes. He was breaking her defenses. One by one... all of 'em.
he trailed kisses across her jaw before he nuzzled her neck.
"Did I scare you?"
"No." she replied. She had no idea when her hands had wrapped around him. She wanted to push him away but one hand in his hair held him to her neck the other restlessly ran down his back.
"Good."
His mouth opened as he sucked on her neck before his teeth scraped over her flesh.
His head rose and he cupped her face.
"You bring out this thing in me. Makes me want to own you. It screams out loud to keep you all to myself. To protect you."
She pulled him in a hug and held him there. It seemed as if he was keeping her grounded, as if he was holding her up or she would have fallen down.
How she had longed for this? For someone to just be there for her. She could fight her own battles. But to have someone support her, to know that someone had her back, that was something she had never had.
After she had run away from her village, she had watched a series of Disney movies. She had watched and she had wondered where her Prince Charming was. When he didn't come, she knew that she wasn't Cinderella, instead she was Fiona. A princess who could fight the dragon on her own and not stay holed up in a tower.
But now here with Calvin- Callum in her arms, for once she thought that she didn't need to stay upright. She could fight her own battles and Calvin would be right there to hold her up when her knees gave out.
"You can't own me." She said in a shaky voice.
"I know I can't. But I want to. I want to call you mine. I want you to be mine."
"It's just the moment."
He stared at her for a moment before he pulled away with a sigh.
"I don't want to keep you away from yourself. The way you are, the way you have fought for everything, I like that. I like that you're your own person. But I don't like the fact that every time we get intimate, you hold a part of yourself back. Which is why I had tried to be gentle with you before." He smiled. "But trust me Mon, nobody has ever made me feel what you make me feel. And for once I feel human. It makes me feel like a person. and that it's okay to have emotions. You showed me that it's okay to have feelings. And babe, one day you'll be mine. that's a promise."
"Why are you doing this?"
He cocked his head, the smile on his face, "Isn't it evident, sweet. I'm falling for you. Falling for you hard." He turned to walk away before he turned and said "I hope you catch me babe. I don't think I could survive this fall."
Monisha didn't know what she should feel. She was angry at the fact that he was leaving her with a burden. Why did he have to go do this? Why did he have to go and fall for her? She didn't think she had it in her to love anyone anymore. Whatever feelings she had; her father had beaten it out of her. The rest of the emotions... his men raped it out of her. She had nothing to give Callum. Nothing at all. Except for her freedom. But wasn't that hers to keep. It was hers and it would stay hers. That was the only thing that mattered. That was the only thing she was living for.
If she gave her all to Callum, what would she have to live for.
"I can't do this. I have nothing to give you Cal."
"you don't have to give me anything. I'm asking for nothing in return. Think of what you're gaining babe. You don't have to give anything but you'll have me. And maybe you already do."
With a wink strode away into his bedroom.
Monisha still stood there. Her heart racing. She felt the panic rise. For once someone hadn't asked anything in return. For once she didn't have to lose herself.
For once she was gaining something.
"For once she would have a person to call hers.
But what if at the end he walked away too...
