Chapter 12 - Revelation
MONISHA SINGH
Monisha and Cal stepped in through the door with around three bags in their hands. Mon turned around to see Lexi in the backseat holding baby Channing as she waved them goodbye. All of the ladies had brought their own cars so they had left by their own. Lexi had said that she would drop them off and that she would soon send a car that wouldn't bring much attention and that Monisha could roam around without anyone knowing where or how she was going about.
They'd had to take a detour so that they could stop by Cal's and grab his clothes too.
"You know that two out of three Hunts have kicked of their relationships in this very house." Cal began
"There's no relationship between us, Callum" she said but the moment she had acknowledged him as Callum and not Cal or Calvin, she knew that what they had might indeed be called a relationship
"So you say" he added as he made his way in. The house wasn't as big or luxurious compared to what she was used to actually. It might've been bigger than the apartment she had when she was staying in Mumbai but it wasn't as big as her current apartment.
They made their way to the staircase. Cal began to pull his bag upstairs. Mon decided she would take the bedroom downstairs. She sidestepped the stairs when Cal called out.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Putting some space between us because it's overwhelming whispered her conscience
"Taking the downstairs bedroom"
"We sleep in the same bed that's the deal."
"When did this happen?"
"It happened when our one night stand remained no longer a one night stand."
"Says who?"
Cal dropped the bag and strode towards her. Monisha backed away, matching his forward step with her backwards.
"Says your body every time I do this." and Cal kissed her again. She definitely had to find it in her to push him away someday. Because the minute he was near her, her brain froze, her heart sped and all she wanted to do was keep touching him, and be so close that nobody could even tear them apart.
"I have a mind that says otherwise." she whispered against his lips.
Cal, trailed his lips along her jaw all the way to her ear.
"Listen closely. Does it refute what your body already has surrendered to."
"Please Cal." she murmured. He sighed and backed away.
"We'll put up a pillow barricade between us if you want. But we stay in the same room Mon. You don't have a choice there." she said
"Fine."
"One day, Mon, One day." he told her. Placed a chaste kiss and then began pulling his bags upstairs.
Mon stood there her back against the staircase as she tried to take control of her breathing and calm her nerves down. Callum definitely overwhelmed her and with the way they were going about, he knew that he would break her walls... one day.
She definitely didn't want that one day to come. Well her mind didn't because her body and her mind were definitely at war at this very moment.
"Wash up." he said suddenly and she jumped up with a yelp.
"I'll cook"
"I don't want Mac and cheese." she said petulantly.
Cal who was on his way to the kitchen stopped and turned, "Fine then I'll order us a pizza."
