Chapter 11 - Friends
CALLUM McCOY
When Cal heard a blood curdling scream from behind Monisha's doors, he pulled his Beretta out that he had stuffed in the waist band of his jeans. There was no other way in and he hated the electronic key card thing. Whatever happened to good old locks. He could easily pick them and he would be able to slip inside unnoticed. But then so would the people who wanted her ass dead.
When another Scream reached his ears, Cal kicked down the doors and rushed inside, gun first only to see Mon run out towards him.
"Get behind me." he ordered her and she froze. She stood there in front of him her eyes straying to the gun and then back to him.
"Ouch Let go of me." Another voice screamed and it came from the bedroom inside.
"I can put you out in .5 seconds if you don't calm down."
"What's going on" Cal asked grimly.
She pointed a finger at him and he was taken aback. She scowled at him but there was no rage in her eyes. "It's all your fault." she said before he could ask what was going on Kayla entered the living room.
"Oh look." she yelled. "Her savior's here."
"What's going on?' He asked again but he let his hand relax and switch the safety back on with his thumb.
"Just put that away." Kayla nodded at his hand and he stuffed his gun back in its place.
Sydney walked in next, her hands held behind her by none other than Lexi.
"You. What kind of a bodyguard are you? Leaving her all alone here."
"Stop yelling." Tess came out next holding a bundle of cloth in her arms. That explained the scream. another round of scream came next and Tess all but handed baby Channing to Lexi.
"You know how much effort it takes to shut her up." Lexi yelled and Channing let out another cry. Lexi hugged her close and paced murmuring sweet words to her baby. "It's okay sweety. Mommy's here. I won't let anyone hurt you."
Seeing Lexi crooning to the Baby was nothing unexpected. She had been a mother to all the ladies, hell she had even adopted Tess when Tess was 14 so that she wouldn't have to go through the ugly dark side of growing up in foster homes like lexi had.
Once baby Channing's cries had settled down. She sat there on the floor and then began.
"One word out of your mouths and I will kick your asses out of here."
"who called them here?" cal whispered to Mon to which Lexi turned her glare towards him, "What did i tell you just now?" That shut him up pretty quick.
"Now sit down." when everybody were still frozen in their places, Lexi added a grim tone, "Sit." she ordered and everybody followed suit.
"Now, to answer your question Cal, nobody called us here. Tess told us about what's going on and we rushed over here because we know Mon has this overwhelming guilt stored inside her."
When Mon opened her mouth Lexi shut her up with her glare. "i won't hesitate to kick you out of your own house." She closed her mouth.
Cal didn't know whether to be amused or to be frightened by Lexi. She was very... domineering. he had no clue how Logan even managed to live with her, let alone fall in love with her.
"As I was saying, Mon has this guilt which stops her from calling us. I wasn't even surprised that she didn't call us in her time of need. What surprised me the most was that she called you." Lexi stated.
