Author's note

Sorry I haven't been updating so much lately, this is just a note to say sorry, but Kion and the lion guard are not in this story. This is because I don't watch the lion guard, though I have rewatched the films and done much back up research into the family tree, I don't want to annoy you guys by guessing what the lion guard is like, but I will have many other characters not in the films 👍. Anyways, enjoy!

Askari

King Kovu reserves judgement, and thank the great kings! Otherwise I would of been dead meat for sure.

I don't miss the hyenas one bit, vile beasts....

I perk up my ears, I can hear laughter coming from behind the rock I'm lying against, staying out of the burning sun.

I turn my head, peering round the side of the rock, I hear paw steps as a lion leaps out of sight into some foliage, shame , I think.

"Hello?" I call out, standing up slowly.

"Boo!" a lioness jumps out of the bushes, strongly bowling me over and pinning me on the dry savannah earth .

Her eyes are an icy blue, and strands of gold snake their way into her iris from the pupil; her fur is a light tan , with an immaculate white underside and beige tail tip. She has a pridelander nose, and barely visible freckles around her delicate muzzle.

I gasp, and laughter erupts from two more lionesses in the bushes, the lioness who jumped on me steps off and hangs her head shyly.

"It was a dare," she says, blushing. "Sorry."

I shake the dust from my mane and smile.

"No worries," I grin at her two friends, they both look like the average lionesses here, nothing special, the seem pretty boring to.

But that female was super hot.....

I lie down again, but I keep my eyes fixed on the female who pinned me.

The other lionesses back away slowly, leaving me and her alone. She swishes her tail nervously .

"I'm Askari," I say.

"Mpenzi." (Said Pen - zee)

There's a moment of awkward silence.

"I like your eyes," I say blushing. "They're really beautiful."

She smiles.

"You're not too bad yourself."

I lay down again against the rock, watching the sun set, it's rays lighting the savannah with a pleasant maroon colour.

Mpenzi lies down next to me, her fur brushing against mine and making me shiver, but not from cold. It's something about this lioness, something that makes me feel nervous, and happy at the same time. Like I want to be with her forever. I smile sadly as I stare out at the view, not a care in the world.
