"but why?!" seokjin yelled for the nth time, hair the car walls echoing his voice.
"because you need to lose that fat on you, i'm not repeating myself!" his mother shouted back.
"i dont need to lose weight, i'm perfectly slim!" jin shot back, his vocal cords hoarse. he knew he shouldn't yell at his mother, but her reason for him to go to a football club was just plain nonsense. seokjin really was pretty slim, no abs though. but he couldn't care less about getting muscles and being fit and not eating particular foods just so then you could stay ripped.
not only did he not want to add a bit of ab, but he absolutely hated sports. especially ball sports. there had been way too many times where a hard ass ball hit him in the face.
aggravated, seokjin sighed, shaking his head whilst looking out front. he could see a student from some other school, carrying what looked to be his uniform in a barrel bag, boldly walking into the huge box-shaped building. he averted his eyes to the digital clock set above the car radio and scoffed.
"will i get anything from this?" seokjin asked inattentively.
"yes."
"what?"
"a fit body," his mother swiftly returned and before her son could respond she added, "now get out of the car! i have to pick up your sister from hockey in less than 10 minutes!"
"its actually 11 minutes-"
"get out!" seokjin shot out of the car, opened the back door, clutched onto his barrel bag which was stuffed with essentials he needed and glimpsed at the speeding car driving in the distance. blue, the dumbfounded boy stood stiffly by the sidewalk, not knowing what to do next.
"i guess i'll just go to the stupid club," he muffled.
the atmosphere was blue, clouds hooded the sky above giving the chilling idea that it was going to rain sooner or later. it was around half past four in the afternoon, winter, so of course, the sun was going down promptly.
begrudgingly, seokjin strutted to the entrance of the building, tapping up the steps and facing the front.
stopping briefly due to the self-opening-doors, he entered into the reception. everything was very inferior. the reception was oddly big, seeing as it was pretty empty, the carpet had dried mud stains and bold patches scattering. to the left, was a bunch of fliers for self-promoting more sporty stuff only sporty people would go to. to the right were several black leather couches shaped like a square as a waiting area. through to the middle was, obviously, the receptionist. by both sides were halls to separate domains.
as non-awkwardly as possible, seokjin leisurely ambled to the wooden desk. he placed his hand onto the desk indicating that he had arrived. the lady looked up from her computer doing whatever and put on a feigned smile.
"hi, how can i help you?" she spoke, content flashing in her eyes, most likely because she had something different to do.
"um, i'm here for the 4:30 football club...?" seokjin said, meek.
the lady smiled brighter and faker, although it was pretty. placidly, she returned her view to the computer screen and started typing. a few scrolls of the mouse and more typing, she, or miss kang (seokjin picked it up from the obvious tag), looked back at the boy directly in the eye and her smile weakened by the tiniest bit.
"yes, you're kim seokjin, am i correct?" the said boy nodded, "well your club has started ten minutes ago, its 20 to now."
as believable as possible, seokjin let out an exasperated sigh. he was late to the freaking club and his mother left him to pick up his sister. what was he supposed to do? blatantly enter the pitch and have the whole arena look at him? hell to the no. although... he had his phone. instantly, he shuffled through his pockets. once, then twice. resembling in no phone, he started looking in his bag. still no phone- no wait, no. the image of his device sitting perfectly on the passenger seat stood clear in his mind.
