The quartet were just getting ready for their gig. They each left their rooms one by one and they were all wearing the same outfits.

"So, you ready for today Mike?" Micky asked as they both walked downstairs.
"Not really. But that has never stopped me from doing things."
"You'll do great big guy. Do you have the ring?"
Mike checked his pocket and pulled out the box and opened it to show Micky. "Yep." He closed it and put it back in his pocket.
"Okay. Lets go." Davy said as he and Davy walked out with their instruments. Mike grabbed his guitar and Micky had already packed his drumset and it was already in the car.
They headed out and went to the gig. They weren't supposed to start for another hour. Once they got there, they unpacked their gear and headed for the stage as they began to set up. Shaun walked in and Mike lifted his head up to see her and he smiled as he approached her.
"Hey. Glad you could make it."
"Yeah. Me too. I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Mike walked her over to a table and sat next to her. "I am gonna make this night special for you." He said as he kissed her cheek.
"Oh really?"
"Yes. Really." He said wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "I'll make sure of it." He leaned down and gave her a kiss.
"So, what do you have planned for tonight?"
"Well, I can't tell you that. Its a surprise."
"Ooh. Would I love this 'surprise' of you'res?"
"Of course you will. When was the last time you didn't like one of my surprises?"
Shaun thought for a moment. "Hmm. Never."
He heard Micky calling him over. "Hey, I gotta get up there. We gotta do a sound check."
"Alright. I'll be here." He gave her a quick kiss as he stood up and walked over to Micky.
"So, when do you wanna ask her?"
"Maybe, around the middle of the gig. Maybe during our break."
"That'll work."
"Yeah. Hopefully she hasn't gotten suspicious. Several days ago, she asked me why I haven't spent alot of time with her lately. I told her that it was because we were so busy rehearsing. She wasn't mad about it. I haven't given her a hint. Come on guys. Lets get started with the sound check."
It took about 45 minutes to finish the sound check and it was time for them to start the music. Mike spoke into the microphone: "Hello everybody. We're the monkees and the first song we're gonna sing, goes out to a very special young lady in the audiance." He gave Shaun a wink as he began to play Sweet young Thing.
