(A/N: Tony has adopted Peter because May died from a car crash. Pepper and Tony are married)
Tony Stark was typically late for dinner. He always had to ask FRIDAY to inform Pepper that he would be late for dinner and he would be late from anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour. Pepper was sick of it. He was late for dinner practically everyday. So, when they adopted Peter she had an idea to get him back for being late.
One day Peter was walking threw the hallways of the compound and Pepper took this opportunity to talk about her plan with him. "Hey, Peter!"
"Hey Ms- Mom. Hey, Mom." Peter said stuttering at his words and Pepper smiled fondly. Even though it had been a few weeks since the adoption Peter still slipped up and called Mrs. Stark or Ms. Potts. He also slipped up with the Avengers, but he didn't slip up as much with Tony.
"So I have a favor," Pepper said. "Well, it's more of a scheme." At this Peter tilted his head in confusion.
"A scheme?" Peter asked. "Against whom?"
"Tony," Pepper replied. "He's late quite often for dinner, so I wanted to know if you could pretend to be late a good amount of time so that he knows how it feels. It's okay if you don't want to though."
Peter shrugged. "Sure, I guess. I know that it always bothers you when he's late and it kind of bothers me too."
"So, every night I'll text you when he comes and then you text him saying that you're going to be late and then come in from anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes. Got it?" Pepper asked smiling at the plot that they were going to start.
"Got it." Peter confirmed.
"So, you'll start tonight. I'll text you when Tony comes."
"Okay, Ms. P-" at the raise of Peppers eyebrow Peter caught himself. "Mom. Okay, Mom."

Around the time when the Starks has dinner Pepper got the usual call from FRIDAY saying that Tony would be late for dinner. Pepper then took out her phone to send a message to the one and only Spider-Man.
Peter
Hey, Tony just texted saying that he
will be late. He should be home soon.
I'll text you when he gets here.Ok :)
Pepper put away her phone and waited for Tony to get there excited to put the plan in action.
Tony finally arrived 20 minutes later. "Hey, Pep. Sorry I'm late." He greeted.
"It's fine." Pepper replied giving Tony a quick kiss. She then took out her phone to send a message to her Spiderkid.
Peter

Tony just arrived.
Ok :)
"Where's Pete?" Tony asked and his phone rang. "Hey, Pete. What's up?" Tony asked putting the phone on speaker.
"Hey, Dad!" Peter greeted. "I just called to tell you that I'm going to be late for dinner tonight. Sorry."
"It's fine," Tony said. "Do you know when you'll be back?"
"In less than 30 minutes." Peter replied.
"Okay, see you then kiddo." Tony replied then hung up as Peter said 'bye'.
"That's unusual." Pepper commented trying not to smile.
"What do you mean?" Tony asked putting his phone away.
"Normally you're the only one that's late." Pepper explained.
"Well, he's a superhero. He's probably busy." Tony said.
About 20 minutes later Peter walked in apologizing for being late and sat down to eat dinner.
"So, Peter. How was school?" Pepper asked.
"Good." Peter replied before taking a bite of a mini tomato.
"What's with that bruise on your jaw?" Tony asked and Peter's eyes widened.
"Oh, you know," Peter nervously replied. "I just fell down the stairs in school."
"Again?" Pepper asked. This had been the third time this week and Pepper was starting to doubt that Peter had fallen down the stairs. And by his expression Tony was too. But they didn't try to call him out on the lie.
"Yeah, you know how clumsy I am." Peter said before taking another bite if his salad.
For the next week or so Peter always came to dinner late, even when Tony was on time. So Tony naturally was wondering why. So Tony finally decided to ask why.
"Hey, Pete?" Tony asked.
"Yeah?" Peter responded covering his mouth with his hand while he chewed his food.
"Why have you been so late for dinner this past week?" Tony asked.
"I've been fighting crime." Peter answered.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Because on the news the last crime you fought was yesterday an hour before dinner," Pepper and Peter immediately looked at each other. "Now I'm not mad I just think that it's kind of annoying when you're always late."
Pepper and Peter laughed, confusing Tony. "Should we tell him?" Peter asked.
"Tell me what?"
"I don't see why not." Pepper replied.
"Tell me what?" Tony repeated.
"You're almost always late for dinner, so I decided to give you a taste of your own medicine." Pepper explained.
"Mom devised a plan where she would text me whenever you would come to dinner and then I would call or text you telling you that I would be late for dinner so that you know how it feels when someone is always late." Peter finished.
Tony was shocked to say the least. At first Pepper and Peter though that they had broken him. Until he finally said. "Betrayed by my own family." Causing Pepper and Peter to burst out laughing.
"Does this mean that you'll stop being late for dinner?" Pepper questioned.
"It means that I'll be late fewer times." Was Tony's answer.
"Great." Peter smiled.
"But this does mean that you two will stop with this little scheme of yours? Peter will stop being late to dinner?" Tony asked.
Pepper and Peter looked at each other. "Sure." Pepper stated.
That night the Starks ate dinner laughing and then fell asleep on the couch watching a movie.
