“No,” Varis answered, “we stay here.”
“What, you want us to stand here and watch the innocent die?!” Jinx shouted.
“There is nothing we can do anyway,” Iris stated.
“Iris? You’re on his side too?” Jinx exclaimed.
The group of friends used to agree with each other and their ideas. Jinx wanted the best for everyone, she liked being leader, but Varis’ personality changed after the incident, so he disagreed with what everyone said and walked his own path.
They were interrupted by the loud sound of footsteps in the hallway. The light bulb above them shook furiously and the furniture that lay next to the door was moved slightly out of place. A gruesome claw broke the wood of the door and chips flew onto the floor.
“They’re here,” Jinx said softly.
A scream was about to leave her lips as the hole in the door grew larger, but Iris covered her mouth and pointed to the balcony.
She had already prepared an escape for everyone as they were talking. Iris opened the balcony door and tied the curtain rope to the metal fence.
“Hurry up guys!” Iris called, already climbing down the rope with a backpack in hand.
“Man, Iris, you are some planner,” Jinx grinned, grabbing her bag.
