She carefully stepped down the stones and safely landed onto the floor. Jinx was slightly frustrated at both Toby and Varis, at they had done absolutely nothing to help her get the cure. They rode the helicopter back to the city. It was hard finding a proper and safe landing spot, as there were still zombies everywhere. Eventually, they found an area that didn’t seem to be too crowded and landed. Everyone got off the helicopter, but Jinx got too excited and ran ahead. She swivelled her body to shout to the others, who were taking their time, but forgot to pay attention to what was around her. In an instant, pain spread through her entire leg, invading her body. Not long after that, her vision blurred and her hearing was faint. She could barely hear what Toby and Varis were yelling to her as she collapsed to the ground. Jinx had been bitten by a hungry zombie and there was nothing that they could do.
After Jinx regained her consciousness, she was in the muscular arms of Varis, as he carried her across the street. He seemed different, nicer, and he didn’t have the usual frown painted on his face.
“W-why are you carrying me?” Jinx muttered under her breath.
