There's a thing about sugar. We're told all our lives that it's unhealthy and we're shown countless food diagrams to say eat the least of what tastes the nicest. That's the thing isn't it. It tastes the nicest. A spoonful of sugar helps the emotion go down. Handful of tic-tacs. Offer your friend a mint. Getting hyper off of nerds. That rush of energy can be just what you need to actually survive the day. Sure there are risk factors but... Why be deprived of something so good. Fizzy drinks filled with caffeinated sugar. Wake up. A bowl of probably the world's unhealthiest cereal. Wake up. Handfuls and handfuls of tic-tacs. Wake up.
How do you wake up if you never slept in the first place?Staring at the ceiling. Music blasting eardrums. The taste of sugar on the tongue.
You get used to sitting in the dark. Thinking. And creating. And remembering."I don't need any bitchy remarks from the likes of you!"
"Hannah! What are you doing"
"Just ignore them"
"Attempted murderer!"
"Calm down"
Her hand was clutching a girls throat. But that's not what happened. That's not what happened. That's not-
Skip song, handfuls of mints.
She rolled over. Staring at the wall now. They'd gone home a few days before so she was greated with the familiar pictures from throughout her life. Some really early on drawings (cringe). Some newer. She checked the time. 1:00am. Again. And again. On repeat.
She messaged Kacey
"Salutations fren"
"Hi lol"
"Wait ur awake?"
"Yes ginger, u left me on read."
"Lol sorry"
"Hey. Habzibah?"
"Ye?"
"Want a drink?"
"Sure lol, be there in a sec."
