" She's a sweet girl. " Esme said a few minutes after she ans Carlisle arrived home.
" Sweet but secretive. " Said Carlisle. He sighed as he sat back on a couch.
" Something's not right. She has too many bruises. There were what looked like burns to. New ones. She never has a big lunch. She's too skinny. " I said thinking about the girl who looks like she's been through a lot. Her eyes are faded. She always looks tired.
" Yeah. I read her mind today, and she said something about finally having real friends. " Edward said thinking hard.
" You became friends with her real quick Rose. " Bella said twirling Nessie's hair.
I nodded. " It supprized me. I just feel...comfortable around her. I like talking to her. She actually listens. " Alice looks at me and faked a mad face.
" I listen to you! "
" But.... Maddie's a better listener. " I say teasing Alice. She frowns.
" How. Rude. "
" Mom. I think she needs our help. " Nessie says looking up at her mother.
" I know. I have a feeling there's something she's not telling us. " Bella says.
" We'll figure out what's going on. We'll help her. " Jasper says.
