Esme and I have been thinking. Mystery boy Chapter 22

It's almost 6. Carlisle should be home soon. I finished my homework, and I'm now hiding in a closet by the front door. No one will think too look for me here. I'm hiding from everyone. Except Esme. They keep bugging me about Carter! 

About half an hour later the front door opens. " Hey guys. I'm home. " I run out the door, too Carlisle. I see the whole family besides Carlisle obviously, standing by the closet door. Shoot. I thought I had acttually tricked them. I hug Carlisle. " Hi Da- Carlisle! " I blush and look away. I don't know if I should call him Dad yet. " I missed you! Help me escape these bone heads. Please. " 

Carlisle chuckles and pats my back. I pull away from him. " What did they do this time Maddie? " 

" They won't leave me alone about Carter. " Carlisle looks at the other teens.

" Leave her alone kids. " They nod and leave. 

" Dinner's ready. " 

" Great. "

" Awesome! I'm hungry! " I say heading towards the bathroom to wash my hands. It's really weird to have someone else cook for me. I was always the cook. I wash my hands and head downstairs. I sit down and look at the food. It looks wonderful. Esme really knows how to cook. We grab some food. I only grab a little. 

" Madison. " Carlisle says looking at Esme. 

" Yes? "

" Esme and I have been thinking. It's not healthy how much your eating. You need to eat more. "

I look down embarrassed. I hate when people tell me I need to eat more. I can feel heat on my cheeks.

" No need to be embarrassed honey. You weren't feed enough when you were younger. Your body got used to you not eating. That's not good though. We want to make sure you get enough food to keep your body working properly. " Esme says softly. I feel a cold hand on my hand. I look up to see it's Alice's hand. She smiles at me and I smile a little back. 

" Okay. " 

" We are going to fill your plate up with how much food you have too eat next time okay? '

" Okay. " I say. 

" Now. People. Nessie, Maddie, you have to go to bed soon. What do you want to do until bed time? " Edward says changing the subject. I'm so grateful for that. Thank you Eddie Boy. Edward looks at me and smiles at me. It's like he's saying ' your welcome '. Sometime's I think he can read my mind. 

" Game. "

" Yeah! A game. " I say agreeing with Nessie. 

We decide to play old maid. I sit in between Edward and Carlisle. Esme's on the other side of Carlisle. Emmett takes forever to pick a card from Alice, and I end up falling asleep on Edwards shoulder dreaming about monsters. Monsters that suck your blood and kill you. They have glowing red eyes. There was this one that really scared me. He has brown hair. His eyes, now red, were originally blue. They look so familiar. I feel like I've seen them before. On someone I know. On..... Carter.
