Memories are created as something you should treasure, something reiterating your wonderful experiences.

But they also have the ability to ruin a person's everyday life, having the power to make the beholder psychotic or traumatized.

He still remembers the day one of his half-siblings agitated him, glowering straightly into his eyes along with the others.

Saying "what is the problem?", he didn't suspect anything, thinking that they were just playing a joke with him as a target.

His half-siblings slowly walked up to him, faces stoic and emotionless. Those expressions sent chills down his spine, causing his mood to turn dark.

That was the moment when he knew,

He knew about their true intentions.

He knew about their feelings toward him.

He suddenly realized that his ego couldn't be trusted.

He realized that the world is more than ecstasy and smiles.

They abruptly grabbed his arms, dragging him to somewhere unknown. He knew something very wrong is bound to happen, something very sinister.

Soobin couldn't help but scream with a high-pitched voice, leading to one of them clutching his mouth forcefully to keep it shut.

He hastily bit his hand and he yelled to catch the duke's attention, who was located below the second floor, where they are.

His half-brother yelped loudly, his siblings shushing him so they could still keep their plan going.

The 'ugly' boy was trying to get himself out of their grasps, wriggling to break free from their harsh and ruthless hold. But none of his intentions work, leaving him hopeless and weak.

What are they going to do with him?

That is the day when he started thinking uncontrollably.

Once they reached a door, one of them kicked the object open, exposing a wooden bathtub filled with pristine water.

Without any mercy, they threw Soobin inside, closing the door so he couldn't get out of their sight. He fell on his arse, perceiving a type of pain he never thought he would receive.

"Please, what are you going to do to me?!"

His salty tears started to trickle down his bright red cheeks, a result from the slapping he received from his half-siblings while dragging him to the direction of the room.

He saw the duchess, his father's wife, smile at him,

Showing one that has no sincerity.

"We are going to make you cease out of existence," she said with a rather cold and monotone voice, laced with utter venom.

Before he can even have the chance to respond or question, he felt his hair being grabbed by a hand, causing his head to hit the bottom of the bathtub.

The water entered the gap between his lips, stinging his eyes and blocking his airway.

He screamed underwater, bubbles rising to the surface with every exhale he released.

His half-siblings watched him struggle with satisfaction in the pits of their hearts, proud and sly smirks were painted on their faces.

Soobin slowly gave up on trying, willing to offer his soul to death. Arms slightly shaking and brain losing oxygen, he decided it was best to let go and rest in peace.

But it stopped.

"What are you doing to my son?!"

The duchess released her grip from his hair, making him lift his head up from the shivering water. He saw his father, his biological and only parent, look at his other family members with blood highly boiling.

He furiously approached his wife, giving her an oppressive slap on the face. The children clearly heard the sharp sound, thinking that the servants had probably heard of it.

Soobin hugged his father in fear, who pitied him because of his condition composed of a pale face and bloodshot eyes.

"No matter what position a person may be, they cannot treat Soobin like this, including you! I have seen you attempt to kill him multiple times, and I have enough!"

He then looked at the scene of his father and the woman screaming at each other, arguing whether the boy is worthy to be living.

In the end, she eventually got out with his half-siblings, causing him to sigh in relief.

The duke hugged Soobin so tight, weeping silently. "I'm so sorry, I cannot let them do this to you anymore."

The child embraced him back, waiting for his solution.

The duke decided to send him to an old castle, the castle he is living in right now.

He was in a state of dilemma, tied to the choices which are either letting him stay in the castle or sending him to a place of solitude, a place far away to reduce risking his life.

He chose the second option to make him, the son he truly loved with his whole heart, safe and unwounded.

It was a painful goodbye,

And Soobin knew it was for the best.
