Thursday was here and I decided it was best to start packing my things, so I could move to my new office in the afternoon. There wasn't much to pack, just some paper work, old magazines, two pictures - one of me and my dad when I was four, and another of me and Mary at one of the office parties, a mug, a packet of cookies, and, of course, my computer.
When I was leaving my old office with the first box of papers, Mr. Irwin bumped into me, making the ground turn white with all the papers now scattered on it.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I didn't see you there." Mr. Irwin, apologized.
"I know." I huffed, starting to get frustrated.
"Maybe I could help you carry the boxes? Your new office is right in front of mine." He said, to my surprise. I didn't knew where my office was because Mrs. Brown had told me she would lead me there when I had everything packed, so I was actually on my way to her office now.
He took the box out of my hands and grabbed all the paper work off the floor. I went back to my office to get the second, and last, box.
When I got to the corridor of Mrs. Brown, I saw her and Mr. Irwin really close, she was really chirpy and giggly, I had never seen her like this.
"Ms. Peterson." She got back to her usual, emotionless self when she noticed my presence. "I was just catching up with Mr. Irwin. It's good that you two are starting to get along because you will be working with him a lot when you are in the office."
"Okay." I replied.
She lead me to the office and I started to organize what was in the boxes in the best way possible. This office was much bigger than my old one and it had two large windows with a beautiful view which made me really excited because of the beautiful view.
Mrs. Brown told me to go home whenever I felt like it, because we would only start working tomorrow on my new position as a full time writer, so I decided to go to my second jobat five p.m. instead of the usual six.
The car ride was always the same, I drove through the same roads, the same houses, the same restaurants, once you start a routine it gets more boring everyday. The only sight that makes me hopeful is the garage, it's what I really love doing and I'm afraid that I won't be there as often with my promotion.
I parked next to the garage and saw two silhouettes talking.
"George?" I called my long lost best friend's name as I saw him next to my dad.
My first instinct was to run up to him and gave him a massive hug.
"Wow, you're tall." I giggled, seeing that now he was possibly a foot bigger than me.
"You look beautiful, Lilo." He smiled and I thanked him.
"Now that you got your old pal back, you don't even care about me." My dad complained about me not giving him my usual greeting.
"You sound like a clingy boyfriend, dad." I kissed his cheek.
"Ugh, don't even." He mocked my usual teenager expression. Fifteen year old me was amazing.
I moved on to greet Calum, making sure to drag him to somewhere I could properly kiss his lips without having an audience.
"Hello to you too, princess." He said.
"Just get to work, hot stuff." I winked.
"Did you just call me hot stuff?" He laughed.
"Get to work, idiot."
There wasn't much for me to do today and I was glad, because it gave me a chance to catch up with George. He different than I remembered, but I can't say the teenage years didn't work well on him. He was tall, blonde, and he looked like a mix between Luke and Mr. Irwin, it was weird but still cute.
