"Lilian, can you come here? I want to introduce you to someone." I heard my father calling me from inside the garage where he runs a car repair shop.
"Sure, I'll be right up." I answered going inside the old garage.
When I got to my dad's office, there was a tall boy about my age, nineteen, with dark brown hair.
"Lilian, this is Calum, he is our new employee."
"Nice to meet you." The boy smiled and extended his hand.
"Nice to meet you too." I smiled back and shook his hand.
"A costumer is entering the garage. I'll help him, you guys can get to know each other in the mean time. Lilo, Calum is going to stay with us in a full time job, I'm sure you can make him feel welcome." My dad left the office.
"Lilo?" Calum laughed.
"Hey! Lilo and Stitch was my favorite TV show, don't tease me."
"Believe me, princess, I'm not teasing you." He winked.
"My name is Lilian."
"But princess suits you much better, and you are supposed to make me feel welcome."
He is such a flirt, it's obnoxious.
"Lilian suits me just fine, thanks.
Moving on, my dad has already told you the basic rules of the garage, right?" He nodded. "You will work with my dad and Carl everyday, from nine a.m. to seven p.m., I will show up at about six p.m. because I have another job.
And see that Toyota W10 MR2? That's my baby and you can in no circumstance touch it, got it?"
"Sure thing ma'am, anything else? Like at what time do I have to I have to paint your nails or straighten your hair?"
"Very funny, Mr-" I looked at his name tag. "Hood. I might look like this now, but I've been fixing cars with my dad since when you started looking at girls."
"Ouch, this kitten has claws." He smirked and I rolled my eyes at him.
"My dad will assign your work when he comes back, and I'll just work on that Ford Fiesta that needs to get it's breaks checked." I turned around leaving the office.
"Wait a minute, princess-"
"Lilian!" I corrected him.
"Whatever. I think I should get to know you, so we can be more comfortable around each other, because it seems like you'll have to put up with me for a long time."
"I'm Lilian Stevenson, I'm nineteen, I've been in this garage since I was born and I am working in a cooking magazine to help pay the bills. You?"
"I'm Calum Hood, I'm nineteen as well. I have a love for cars for a long time because I used to fix my dad's old car with him. I'm Australian but I moved here last year."
"Why'd you leave Australia?"
"That's none of your business, princess."
"Sorry, I was just trying to make you feel welcome." You could hear the sarcasm flowing out of my mouth.
"How funny." He stroked my cheek.
Is this boy stupid or something?
"Can I work now?" I asked, ignoring what he had just done.
"Sure, princess. Have fun!" He winked.
I had just left the office when my phone rang.
"Ms Stevenson?" A voice, which I recognized as being my assistant, spoke.
"Yes, that's me. You can just call me Lilian, Luke, I'm only one year older than you."
"Fine, Lilian. I only called to tell you that tomorrow after work you have to interview Mr Longblanc. Mrs Brown is sick so you'll have to replace her."
Mr Longblanc was one of the most famous French chefs in America and his restaurant was just one hour away. I'm glad Luke called me, because now I had time to prepare the questions.
"Thanks, Luke. Do you want to join me for the interview?"
"That'd be a pleasure, Lilian."
"Great! Prepare some questions as well, because I can forget some key ones."
"Sure thing. I have to go now. Thanks for that. Bye!"
"It was nothing, Luke. You'll help me. Bye!"
I ended the call and almost jumped when I saw a figure standing next to me.
"Who was that, princess? Your boyfriend?" Calum didn't even let me reply when he added: "What a shame. All the pretty girls are taken."
"That was my assistant. And you shouldn't be so nosy about everything."
"Oh. You're so fancy you even have an assistant." He laughed.
"Oh, shut up!"
"Make me!" He winked.
"Just get to work, will you? That's what my dad pays you for." Frustration took over my voice.
"Fine, princess. It was nice chatting with you."
