We pull up to my house. Just my dad, Emily, and I in the car. We already made a stop at Emily's house to get her school things and a fresh change of clothes. No pajamas. Whenever she comes to my house she borrows my pajamas. She just loves mine...for some unknown reason.

My dad gets out along with Emily and I. The car doors slam shut as we walk up the pavement to the big yellow house. Emily's shoes click on the pavement, she is wearing four inch heels. While I wear my everyday flats.

She was always more fashionable than I am. I always relied on her to catch me up.

We climb our way up the stairs. My legs are sore from volleyball practice today. The simple three front stairs were like climbing a mountain.

My dad opens the front door, allowing us to make our way in first, "Ladies first," he chuckled. Emily and I accept his gesture, walking in to the big house.

Emily looks around, "I have missed this place, you know?"

"Emily," I began, "you were here yesterday."

She grins, "Oh right! It feels like forever," she drops her school bag and books on the coffee table and begins clomping up the stairs to my room I suspect. She does that.

I give my dad a look. "We are probably going to be going to bed soon," I say.

He smirked at me, "nice try, I will be up there at nine thirty to say goodnight."

Damnit.

I trot up stairs. I turn the corner to go down the hallway. I look up at the analog clock hanging on the wall. Nine' o' clock. If I'm telling Emily tonight...I better tell her soon. I continue to my room to walk in and see Emily in her underwear and bra.

Shit.

She looks up at me, "Oh hey! Just changing. Hope you don't mind." Emily yanks the cotton lounge pants up and lets go causing it to slap her waist.

I gulp, "It's fine, hey so look I have to tell yo-"

Emily cuts me off with a squeal, "Eep! You got the new tiger beat magazine!?" She grabs the magazine and flops down on my bed, opening it to the first page.

I sigh, "Anyways, what I was saying was that...that one night at the party...something happend..."

"Ooh! Did I miss some thing when I was in the closet with Danny?!"

"No...it was when we were...in the closet..."

She blankly stares at me. Her lips flatten into a tight line. "You said we wouldn't speak of that..."

"Well, what I'm about to say is really important!"

"I don't want to hear it!" She shouts.

"Emily please! Just listen!"

She gives me an un certain look. "No! Absolutely not!"

"Emily! But it's-"

"NO! I really don't want to get into this bull shi-"

"EMILY I FUCKING LOVE YOU!" I clasp my hand over my mouth. My eyes widen.

The room goes silent.

A weird type of silence. I have never experienced this kind of silence with Emily.

She has a blank expression on her face. I can't read it. Shocked, confused, hurt, awkward, or maybe even all of the above.

Emily finally begins to speak, "I-I- you?-me?...love?"

"I know it sounds crazy..but ever since that kiss...I feel something every time I think of you...I don't even feel that with Tyler...I have real feelings for you Emily."

"But...you like Tyler..you aren't gay..you..you can't be." She stutters.

A tear rolls down my face, "..bisexual?..."

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I thought you would hate me or not feel the same way...I thought we wouldn't be friends anymore," I sniffle and wipe a tear from my cheek, "I didn't want to risk that..."

She pats the bed for me to sit down. I do. "Look, Amber, I don't feel the same way...I'm sorry...you know that I'm straight...and..we will never stop being friends...I will never ever hate you! I love you! You are the best friend ever!"

I look down, "What do I do about my feelings...?"

She sighs, "you have Tyler, just try to put them aside...okay?"

"I'm going to bed," I get up and turn off the lights. I lay down under the covers and tuck myself in.

"Amber...I'm sorry!"

"Night Em..." I roll over, tears still streaming down my cheeks.

I feel her lay down, adjust herself, and roll over.

The last sound I remember is me...trying to muffle my sniffles.
