"Now, class.  Have you ever heard of..." Miss Choene begins, just the start of one of her long, boring classes.  She is one of those teachers who just never stops talking once they start.  She hardly ever even lets us ask questions, so we always have to ask each other.  The upside to this is she's always so busy talking that she almost never hears us when we're whispering to each other.

Jimin and I were in this class together, fortunately, which is good for the both of us, and for the other kids in class, otherwise they would probably get on my nerves and I'd lose it, which would be bad for everyone.  So Jimin and I talk, share notes, and help each other if we missed something important in her boring lecture.  The worst part is that her voice stays the exact same tone and pitch the entire time, and I'm surprised I haven't stabbed her with a pencil yet.

"Hey, did you hear about the Ghost murders?"  I overhear a female voice say.  Now, usually, I ignore all the gossip and such in this classroom, but this obviously caught my attention.  It startled me at first when they knew the names of the murders, before remembering that we tagged each scene with the word "Ghost".

"Yeah, I think so.  They're those creepy serial killers, right?  They don't have any like, pattern or whatever, they just usually burn the building down once they're done and tag it.  I heard somewhere that they're like, actual ghosts."  A second voice spoke.  I internally smirk at the last part.

"My daddy works in the police.  He says that they're like, like really good or whatever.  Not leaving clues behind.  He's investigating it, says they've looked anywhere.  He says they're like, ex-military, or something?"

I bite my tongue to keep from laughing.  The fact that they are so wrong, but still giving so much acknowledgment for how good we are, is exciting.  I can't wait to tell the others about it.  I look over at Jimin, who was taking notes but looked up quickly after I poked him with my pencil.  He gave me a soft smile and nodded, acknowledging that he heard them as well.

The girls quickly change subjects, which is disappointing, but I need to focus on doing my schoolwork anyway.  The teacher rarely says anything of importance, so if you can tune out her blabbering, it's a good one to do homework in, or think about plans for the next job.

Unfortunately, today, the only homework I have to do is a personal opinion essay on the foster care system.   Something that I have more than enough experience with, and it isn't all that pleasant.

"So, what am I supposed to do, Gerard?  Take him to a shrink?  You know that'll just take money away from the other, more deserving children.  Plus, what kind of person would let me keep taking care of that... that demon?  The government would take him away, which means taking away the money I get for taking care of him!"  The female voice spoke.  I stood just at the top of the stairs, listening to the conversation that was happening downstairs between my foster mom and her brother.

"I don't know, Josie.  I just know that psycho is a threat to the other kids, as well as your nieces.  Just this morning, he tried to stick a sewing needle in Ella's arm!  Moving to Korea is already stressful for them, with language barriers and everything.  The last thing they need is that freak attacking them!"

Silence.   I stood at the top of the stairs for another minute, before the loud discussion they were having before turned into whispers that I couldn't make out.  Knowing that I would reveal my eavesdropping if I were to attempt to get closer to them and hear what they were saying, I pout and make my way back to the room I shared with my three foster brothers.
