beep – beep – BEEP
I slowly open my eyes, hearing an alarm clock going off in my room. Letting out a scratchy hum, I roll over and rub my eyes, annoyed by the repetitive sound. It wasn't until I had rubbed most of the sleep out of my eyes that I remembered I didn't have an alarm clock. Without making any sudden movements, I reached down to the side of my bed, trying to blindly find the blade that I kept hidden under there without slicing myself.
This action proves to be unsuccessful, as I can't seem to locate it without my vision, unless I want to risk cutting my hand open. The alarm sound slowly draws nearer, so I roll onto my back, hearing the sound now coming from right beside me. I take a deep breath and get ready to fight back whatever or whoever is about to grab me, when-
"Bitch, I KNOW you're awake! Get up already, holding my phone like this is getting tiring." I hear a whiny voice from just over my bed. I take a breath of relief and open my eyes to be greeted by a sleepy-looking Jimin standing over me. He grins at seeing me open my eyes, and turns the alarm off, fumbling a bit, making it even more clear that he's very tired, and, knowing he's a morning bird, that means it's early.
"Morning, Jimin." I let out; my voice still husky from just waking up. I feel him sit down on my bed, letting out a tired sigh.
"Sorry for waking you up so rudely, Tae. Jeongguk called us all and said we needed to meet him at the park near the school by seven, before school. You wouldn't wake up when I shook you, so I used my phone alarm." Jeongguk, up early?! I've never heard of Gguk setting up a morning meet, so this has got to be important.
"I understand." I respond, stumbling out of bed to change into school clothes, trying to go fast without falling and breaking my nose. I turn back to Jimin to speak again. "Did Gguk say why he needed us to meet up so early?"
Jimin shakes his head, and then stands up to stretch. I look over at my wall clock, reading 6:40. Knowing we wouldn't have too much time to get to the park, I speed up getting ready, and we are heading out the door within a few minutes.
*********
"Hey Ggukkie! What's up?" Jimin asks as we approach where the rest of the group was waiting, in a secluded area of the park that we like to meet up at. Namjoon motions for us to get a little closer. We all huddle up around Jeongguk, waiting for him to state whatever news he has for us. Namjoon takes one last look around to be sure that we're completely alone, and then nods for Gguk to start talking.
"I heard my dad talking this morning... He said that a major crime boss's brother just got murdered and that the crime boss is looking for vengeance..." He starts. I let out a mildly frustrated sigh and interrupt.
"Okay, Jeongguk. Try again, how about something that applies to us?" I say, and Joon nods in agreement with me. Gguk gulps and looks away from my gaze nervously. I'm used to this action, as I've been told many times that I have a very intense look, but he hasn't made eye contact with me a single time in the two days since I kissed him.
Not that I care. Not at all.
"Well... they said that they're catching our scent. Apparently..." He says, turning to Hoseok, "The Ghosts' left behind a syringe with traces of various drugs at the scene. There weren't any prints, but tracing the various drugs, plus our tire treads that were the only evidence they had on file, they now have less than two hundred different suspects. Using those suspects, they could potentially trace the stuff to us."
Hoseok's face flushes, and he looks down at the ground. Namjoon puts a hand on one of his shoulders, giving it a squeeze. "Don't worry, Hobi. Any of us could have made a mistake." The rest of us give some nods, and even though we all know that the chance of me or Yoongi slipping up is so slim it's basically nonexistent, nobody, NOBODY, wants Hoseok to be sad.
