What could have been yet another rather boring night for crime reporters somewhere in the district of Chiyoda, a few miles away from Metro PD and Public Safety, was definitely far from it.

A small group of young, newspaper journalists huddled together in the meeting room.

Each one of them discussed a trivial commotion of which was far more unusual than a crime scoop like a Mafia boss, a horrendous crime scene, amongst many other things.

"Looks like there's a new Special Task Force that's neither Public Safety or Metro PD," Yosuke Tachibana announced to his trusted group at the prestigious Omiyuri Newspaper team.

He handpicked each one of them and they were the finest of the lot.

Even if the annoying Intern in the group was his half-brother, Marwan.

The youth of barely 18 years of age gingerly took his seat at the back of the leading team consisting of Kim Miyata, Daisuke Kondo, and Naomi Koijima.

His was a small unit, but a formidable team when united.

The Omiyuri was one of the most formidable local newspapers in all of Japan.

These were the best of the best crime journalism has to offer and their talents preceded their reputation.

"After that entire Tokyo Metro PD Brotherhood of Fire scandal, I'm not surprised," Kim Miyata, a gorgeous haired brunette with emerald green eyes, concluded.

"It's pretty much an episode off Game of Thrones out there," Daisuke Kondo hummed out the intro to the HBO TV show as everyone laughed over the quip.

The reporters of the Omiyuri rarely had time to joke about anything.

Oftentimes, their line of work was so serious and quite troubling that Yosuke understood the need for his team to unwind every now and then.

And with this bit of information, it might have just done the trick.

"It's been a month since the acting Chairman Kyobashi stepped in," Kim cleared her throat as she procceded to give a rapid-fire bullet-point outline on the scoop regarding the new Chairman.

Based on her input, the new acting Chairman didn't seem anything like his previous predecessors and it was hard to ascertain where his loyalty lay amongst the Police.

As it is, the current political stand in Tokyo Metro PD was divided.

There were those who wish for the similar liberal diversity Takeshi Hayase made with his groundbreaking reforms, while some preferred to remain homogenous as it has always been for the traditional Japanese.

"And while all this drama is happening, we have here a group of misfits who join in on the fun," Yosuke pulled out a folder of which contains bioforms of a group of six people, two men and four women.
