"Haven't you had enough?" Agasa asked Tadanobu Nomura who chugged yet again another round of scotch on the rocks as if it were going to waste.
Agasa grimaced as he observed in silence how unkempt the Deputy Chief looked.
It was nothing like he had ever seen before: He was used to the Deputy Chief being so cool and composed, clad in immaculate attire.
No matter how stressful the workload was in the years since Agasa opened Station, Metro PD's debonaire unit of the infamous misfit squad, Second Unit Deputy Chief Tadanobu Nomura played it off as cool as a cucumber.
It was also a known fact he was the best-dressed amongst any of the Police men that came through Agasa's bar.
But that all changed in the last few weeks as he noted Nomura's matted hair of which looked if he hadn't had properly showered in days. His beard had significantly grown much longer as the man who was once dubbed as the Metrosexual of Metro PD smelled like a heady mix of cigarettes and alcohol.
Tadanobu Nomura looked more worn out than his worn, unironed clothes.
Whatever took place those past weeks shocked Agasa by how this 360 degree in change Tadanobu Nomura affected him entirely.
The barkeep watched in silence as Nomura swayed a bit before he finished the contents of his scotch.
Tonight, he had finished 3 bottles of Walker as another unopened bottle stood by, waiting patiently for Nomura's attention.
Once he was finished, Nomura slammed the empty glass with a smile on his face.
"Gimme shmmore," he said in a drunken slur, unaware of the bottle already beside him as Agasa grimaced and shook his head.
"Seriously Nomura, that's one last bottle and I'm calling Kirisawa to get you."
"As if you would," he scoffed as he flipped the bird at the bartender.
Agasa knew right then and there that Nomura wasn't drunk enough yet.
The barkeep then turned his heel as Deputy Chief of Tokyo Metro PD's Second Unit Tadanobu Nomura slumped back in his chair, alone again in his thoughts.
It had been weeks since that day and he remembered it like it was yesterday.
He flinched again as the wounds felt fresh no matter how much alcohol he tried to fill in his system.
He couldn't get over the heart broken look on Tamiko Hayase's face as the rain pelted on her lovely face that fateful evening.
He remembered it all.
He remembered how the rain fell against her lovely face, her hair and her skin, as she was drenched under the massive downpour.
In his mind, the vision of her having managed to keep a serene smile on her face, despite her emotional turmoil as the rain coincided with the tears which flowed down her cheeks.
