Chapter 12 (Did I Scare you?)

Lin Chung's P.o.v.
I was in Big Green, glad that it was a lot cooler thanks to The Elephant King joining to our cause. But (Y/N) still didn't present herself. I was starting to actually worry about her. When we left, she went with Mystique Sonia instead of me, when we were all in Big Green nice and cool, she excused herself and went outside in the burning heat instead of inside. I knew something was wrong. I retraced every single thing that I could've done to scare her. I know that I did something to startle her. I just know it. I went to look for her, because it was nightfall. I found her staring at the starry night sky.

I walked up behind her and said, "(Y/N)?"

She jumped and once she saw me she looked away. "Hey Lin." I turned my head to the side wondering what was wrong. "Is everything alright? Are you okay?" I reached out my hand to hold her hand, but she shifted away. I worried a lot. For the past three days, she seemed fine and competitive, always wanting to help whenever there's a friend in need. And most of all...she's always happy to be around me. But ever since today and after I let out my rage...

And I scared her.

I scared her.

That's why she seems so off today. She's afraid that I might do or say something to her that could hurt her feelings and scare her.

"(Y/N)," I said softly. "Look at me, please."

She slowly looked up at me. I stared into her beautiful (E/C) eyes.

"Did my rage of my sketchbook being ruined frightened you?" I asked her.

She looked down, and replied. "....Yes. I...was afraid that you were still upset about your sketchbook being ruined that I thought you needed time to cool off, and I didn't want to bother you while you could've been upset...."
She looked down as she tugged at her hat, looking embarrassed. "I didn't want you to be angry at me...so far you've been my closest friend, and I don't want to make you upset...."

I looked at her, feeling terrible as ever. I had never knew that she was afraid of me being mad at her. I took her hand, told her to look at me once more, and said, "(Y/N), I would never be upset at you for something that wasn't your fault. It was just a drawing, sure it was one of my bests, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to take out my rage out on you."

She squeezed my hand. "You're my friend,
(Y/N)," I told her. I then pulled her into a hug as she hugged back, and we hugged for a long while until Mighty Ray had yelled, "EWWWW GROSS! GET A ROOM YOU TWO! Owwwww! Stop that!" He yelled at Mystique Sonia, who had smacked him on his head.
"Leave those two alone! It's alright for them to hug!" She yelled back.

Me and (Y/N) both looked at each other and smiled. We stopped hugging and let our hands go and went back inside headquarters, where we would need our strength for the morning.

"You wanna sleep in my room tonight?" Mystique Sonia offered (Y/N). "There's a lot more room."

(Y/N) looked at me, and I said to her, "Whatever you want to do." She smiles and then nodded to Mystique Sonia and accepted her offer.

And with that, the entire team was off asleep again, awaiting the next morning.
