It has been weeks now when I first came to Bluedale. A town far south which is well known for its white sand beach. But I did not come here for the beach nor the boys in their trunks going on surfing. I am here because of my college education.

After graduation, I applied for a scholarship and got the chance of enrolling in one of the most prestigious schools in the Continental U.S.-the Euxine University.

Once in a while, I get to pinch myself just to make sure that I am not dreaming. That everything I ever dreamed of has already come to life.

Standing in front of the University whose building's structure was derived from the architectural structure of Pantheon in Greece, makes my heart beat even faster.

This is my first day and I wonder what's in store for me. I reached for my necklace with a cross pendant and silently whispered a prayer.

My thoughts were cut when I heard loud beeping of a car from behind me. I stepped aside letting the blue Chevrolet make its way to the parking area. An unusually black Ferrari followed it.

"Look, it is Dien!" exclaimed a girl at my right.

"Good thing he's back," her friend added. I wonder who that Dien was. Looks like he's quite popular around here.

I decided to walk my way to the building. I don't want to be late on my first day. As the saying goes, first impressions lasts.

As I pass by the cars, I noticed that the driver of the Ferrari, lowered half his window and stared at me with those pitch black eyes. That only lasted for a few seconds then he raised his window again. I continued walking toward the building's entrance but I could still feel his eyes on me.

After Mrs. Trevor, the administrator, gave me some further instructions, she let me attend my first class. It took me ages to find the science laboratory where Biology classes are held. When I entered the room, our professor is already discussing something about plant and animal cells.

"Are you the new student?" my professor, Mr. Grey, I learned his name from his identification card which was pinned on his uniform.

"Yes. I'm Gabrielle Creed. I'm pleased to meet you all," I answered and slightly bowed.

"Another nerd," I heard a girl whisper to her friend.

"Yeah, that girl doesn't belong here," said the other. I ignored them. I really don't care if they don't like me. Besides they're not the reason why I'm here.

"You can sit at the table beside Livingston," Mr. Grey said. He was referring to a man, about my age, in black T-shirt.

I sat by the window. I smiled at my seatmate but he just stared at me with those black orbs and it sent an unexplained chill to my bones so I just looked away. There's something eerie about this guy.
