The moment Dien held the door of his car for me, I know that we already caught the attention of the people around us. I don't like it when others stare at me.

"Why are they staring at us?" I whispered to him as we together.

"Don't mind them. Remember what I told you yesterday?" he asked.

I just nodded and walked beside him while bowing my head as low as I can.

This is going to be fun, ironically speaking.

It has been weeks since Dien started to fetch me at my house on my way to school and bring me home after class hours.

And it has also been weeks since I feel that my schoolmates, especially the girls, are outrageous about what's going on between the two of us.

There are times that I even hear others talking behind my back.

"She's nothing but a past time. She's not the type of girl Dien would dare to live his forever with,"

I was inside one of the cubicles of the girls' restroom when I heard them talking.

"You're right, she's too boring. A nerd," another said and both of them laughed.

I could feel my blood boil from my veins as I listen to them. Much as I wanted to confront them, I know that it won't do me any good.

So I decided to talk with Dien. Besides he's also involved in this matter, right?

After ages of searching, I found Dien in the cafeteria together with his friends.

"Let's talk," i told him.

Although he was confused about my sudden approach, he just silently followed me outside.

We found our place inside the storage room under the stairs.

"Well, what's the matter?" he asked with his usual cool tone.

"I want you to stay away from me," I said looking down.

"Why the sudden change of heart? Is something bothering you?"

"Because I feel like I've been the enemy of the state since the day that we became friends. I always hear gossips behind my back and I hate it, Dien. Everyone's acting as if I've taken their precious candies,"

I was dead serious about what I said but in exchange, Dien just smiled.

"Could you please stop smiling? This is not a joke."

"What do you want me to do? Be serious and allow wrinkles to rule over my face? Look Brielle, it's not even a problem. Why do you bother yourself about what others think? They are not worth your time."

"God! Dien, why can't you understand that it's getting into my nerves? Please, just do what I'm asking you to do."

"What if I don't.. What if I won't.." he stared at me with his eyes.

And just like every time he looks at me that way, my heart pounded inside my chest as if it wanted to come out.

I stepped backwards but I was cornered on the wall. Dien, took my chin between his thumb and forefinger. He purposefully lowered his head, not taking his gaze off of me. I can't move even if I wanted to.

I was already mesmerized by the depths of his eyes. Plus his scent.

It's quite intoxicating.

Then just in time, we heard the bell ring.

Dien, for a moment, let his forehead rest against mine while his eyes are closed. With him, only inches from me, I could feel that he's also breathing hard. Is he feeling same way?

"Back to class," I said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah.." I hurried out before he could even say another word.

That was close.
