Indeed, this is one of the true essence of Jianghu. They rather suffer than taking advantage of friendship.
Last week I was blessed with doing a favor for one restaurant owner. I picked him up walking the street and drop him at his shop which is rather far, at least one hour walking, and they haven't been eating or drinking all day!(<--to emphasize the size of the favor, lol). Till now I am afraid to drop by his shop even though I wanted to, for fear he will let me eat for free.
