Im Scared

As they prepped me for my surgery I was so scared I can literally crap bricks. This is not like the last time. And to be told that my stomach is inflamed and infected was driving me nuts.

I looked at my sister who was a nervous wreck pacing the floor on the phone with her fiancé. I didn't want her to tell my nephew cause he gets so emotional and he is so attached to me.

So I just told her to tell him I'm just getting a girls checkup. I heard him say "eww I don't want to hear that."

That was the reaction I wanted to hear too. I can't be having him all discombobulated and he got a game tomorrow. Jarod was looking so worried too.

He was not in the right head space. I looked over and called him to my bed side.

"Jarod come here."

He walked over looking like he was about to break down.

"What's wrong?"

"Man this is too much Michelle. Seeing you go through this and my baby laying in the hospital is all got me all fucked up."

"You don't have to be here. Go be with your daughter and your..."

He cut me off before I could finish.

"That's not my fucking wife. Jarod unless y'all divorced that's your wife. Or legally separated."

"Man I don't want to talk about her. I'm here with you and trying to support you."

"Fine we'll chill out then cause you and Gabby both are making me more nervous than I already am."

Gabby walked on the other side of the bed and kissed my forehead.

"You gonna be ok sissy."

"Yes I know that's why I need both of you to calm down and take a chill pill."

The doctor came in and started talking.

"Ok Michelle we got you all set up to go have your surgery. Is there any questions you have for me?"

"No. I'm just ready to get this over with."

"Well I got some questions."Gabby said.

"Yes ma'am?" Doctor Ross said.

"How long is this gonna take to do this little surgery?"

"It's basically a D&C. We have to put her to sleep and suction all the remainder of the baby's sack out and all the infection that is in her stomach."

"Will she be able to return to work?"

"I'm gonna write her an excuse for at least 3 days to recoup. Is there any more questions?"

" I got one." Jarod said.

"What's your question?"

"Is there any way you can tell why she had the miscarriage?"

"It's kind of hard to say on that sir. I mean it could have been a numerous of things. She was on birth control as well. That could have just as well been the cause. Is that all the questions you have?"
