I sat in my bed and thought about how my family has suffered and been through so much these last few days. I got to find out what's going on with my sister myself.

I buzzed the nurse and asked her to step in the room please. She came in a few minutes later after I called.

"Listen my sister was in a bad car accident and is in surgery. I need to find out what's going on. And my nephew is sedated in another room. Can I be wheeled to his room please?"

"I don't see why not. Let me go get one and I'll be right back."

I pulled back my covers and sat in the chair and waited for her to come get me. When she came in I had put on my robe and slides and stood and sat in the chair.

"You moving pretty good there aren't you?"

"Yes ma'am. I don't play."

She smiled and pushed me to Malik's room. When the door opened Daniel looked at me crazy.

"Didn't I tell you to stay in the bed?"

"Sorry babe. I couldn't. I had to come see about my nephew and my sister. No matter what happened that's my blood."

"I'll take her ma'am."Daniel said.

He walked over and wheeled me to Malik's bed. I kissed him on the forehead and said "hey baby."

He opened his eyes and started smiling.

"Auntie. What you doing out of bed?"

"I came to see about you."

"I'm fine. But you need to be in the bed."

"Boy hush hell. I'm the aunt and I'm fine."

We all laughed including Malik.

"Where mama? Have anyone heard anything?"

"No baby. We haven't heard anything yet. I can't loose my mama auntie."

"I know baby. We just gonna pray that she's fine."

We waited and talked a few minutes and the doctor came in and checked Malik.

He was doing fine so they said they will discharge him. I signed his papers since my sister couldn't.

"Hey doc. Have you heard anything on my sister? Gabrielle Carter?"

"I know she's in surgery."

"How bad was the accident?"

"Well she suffered a lot of head trauma. She lost a lot of blood. The car was dented on top of her body."

"Omg." Malik said.

"Is my mama gonna die?"

"Well son. I don't know. That all depends on her and the Lord honestly."

"What are her percentages doctor?" Donald asked.

"For what I saw it was a 60/40."
