I was smiling wildly. It had been the best day ever! It was the third time I had left the house to hang out with my brother and it rocked! So what if my dad didnt know? I was having fun with my brother and I was perfectly safe. Plus he woulndt notice, he spent the entire day with Lacey at the shop. I grabbed my keys and opened the door. I walked in cautiously wondering if anyone was home. Nope. I smiled and put my keys away as I closed the door.

"Aldara." siad a very angry voice behind me.

Shit.

I turned slowly with a nervous smile on my face. "Hi dad."

"Where were you?"

"I was out."

"You know your not allowed to leave the house without me."

"Dad I was just-"

"No Aldara you know youre not to leave the house. Its dangerous."

"Oh so dangerous! Dad I use to live in the enchanted forest! Thats a million time worse! What is wrong with me leaving the house a couple of times?"

"A couple of times? Youve left the house before?!"

I almost slapped myself. "Well....I..."

"You should really listen to your father Aldara. "  Said another voice behind my father. Then Lacey walked out of my father shadow to stand next to him, drunk as ever.

"What are you doing here?" I asked acusingly. I didnt want her here, specially when my father and I were fighting.

"Aldara dont be rude. And dont change the subject." snapped my father.

"I wasnt chaning the subject. I just didnt understand what she is doing here."

"Your dad was just showing me your house. Why dont you answer your fathers question?" said Lacey turning the attention back on me.

"Like I said I was out."

"What were you doing?" Asked my father. I could tell he was really angry, but I didnt care. Its not like I was his prisoner. And how could he let Lacey comment. Its not like she was part of the family.

"I went to meet a friend." I didnt want to talk about it when Lacey was here.

Lacey suddenly seemed intrested. "A boy?"

I smiled. "Hmmm maybe. Either way its none of your bussiness Lacey."

Lacey made a fake hurt face and truned to my father.

"Aldara! If youre going to be acting like this then go to your room! Before I teach you a lesson."

My jaw dropped. He was defending her and sending me to my room? Serously? And if I didnt go I was going to teach me a lesson?! You got to be kidding me.

"Fine!", I yelled and I ran up the stairs, "Its nice to know she is more important!"

"Aldara!" called back my father

"Now I understand why Bae left!" I yelled before slamming my door shut.

I ran to my bed and beggan to cry. I hated fighting with my dad. Stupid Lacey. I should have never left the house in the first place. No. Im glad I went out. I was abble to share some time with my brother and get to know him. My father and my brother were what I was looking for all those years. I was looking for my family. What I haddnt understood is that this family doesnt exsist. Its broken.  I have a father on one side. And a brother on the other. It wasnt one whole thing, it was two separated parts.
