~Flashback~

Seb's POV

"Ariel! Ariel! Comeback! You'll get us in trouble!" I called out to her

She turned around with a wide smile on her face that made my heart do somersaults.

"Shh!" she hushed me "We won't get in trouble if  we don't get caught."

I sighed and swam after her. I knew we shouldn't be going up to see the surface sky, but Ariel enjoyed it so much, I couldn't say no. We both popped our heads out of the water to see the stars. I had to admit if there was one thing good that came from the surface world, it had to be the stars.

"Ariel?"

"Sebastian?" she said mockingly

I smiled at her "Ariel I know you like the stars-I do too, but we should really get going."

"Oh Sebastian why do you have to be a shell in the mud."

"I am not a shell in the mud!" I huffed "I'm just worried about you."

"Sebastian you are to sweet." she smiled at me

At that moment I was glad that I was a crab. At least she wouldn't be able to see me blush.

"Whats that!?" she gasped pointing at something behind me. I turned around and felt my heart stop. Colored stars were exploding in the night sky. I held my breathe not knowing what to do. I had never seen such a breathe taking sight. That's when I saw it. It was a large boat at the distance where the colorful lights were coming from.

"Ariel we have to go!" I yelled turning around but she was already gone. "ARIEL! ARIEL!" I called out in fear not knowing where she was suddenly I saw a flicker of a large fin headed in the boat's direction.  I felt as if  lightning bolt made of fear had struck me. I swam as fast as possible not stopping one minute to breathe. When I finally caught up to her she was insanely close to the boat. No not close...she was on the boat. Oh god her father's going to kill me.

"Ariel." I whispered to her once I was also on the boat.

"Aren't they amazing?" she smiled staring dreamily at the humans. I glanced at them. What was so amazing about them? They looked like mermen with strange sticks instead of fish tails. I rolled my eyes, I will never understand Ariel's love for Humans.

"Sure Ariel they are amazing whatever you say, but we need to get going. Ariel if your father finds out-"

"He won't find out Sebastian. And-"

She stopped an kept her eyes still on something. I turned my direction to where she was looking. But all I saw was another human, dancing and smiling.  I tried to get her attention back, but she just stared at the human with a small smile planted on her face. I focused my attention back on the human. He dressed differently to the rest and all the other humans addressed to him as 'Price Eric' or 'Eric'.I didn't know humans had princes and princesses....

Ariel wouldn't take her eyes off him for a second. She seemed to be in deep thought.

"He's the one" she said barely above a whisper

"What?"

"Sebastian, that human, he's the one. I just know it!"

"He's the what?"

"My true love."

I felt my heart stop.

I sighed as Snow and I watched Ariel merrily dance with Prince Eric. I should have known it was impossible for her to see me the way she saw him. And yet...it still hurt.
