Clipped My Wings

Ivy pulls my thoughts to the inside, like petals on a flower.

Tendrils wrap around me body, holding me in place.

I cant scream, I cant twitch, I cant move a muscle.

You are worried that I will leave you behind, but this is not it.

This is not me taking off, away from you, this is me leaving you, another way.

What you don't understand is I would come back, but not like this.

I am locked in place, by this ivy that just wont let go.

More than what you are doing right now, hurts.

You clipped my wings, changed the wind from letting me fly.

The tendrils wrap around me, keeping me here.

Holding me against a brick wall, and my free will.

The leaves tickled my ear, but I cant move to scratch.

This is not it, this is not the right way to change.

Don't clip my wings, don't change the wind from letting me fly.

I am stuck here, all I can do is surrender to the tight grip of your ivy.
