Sinking

Sinking

You're pulling me under,

I cant breathe all the way down here.

Pull me up, save me from the unknown.

You pulled me too far under, now I'm sinking.

There is always the statue you cant touch,

So far away, yet at the tips of your fingers.

You reach for it, and come up short.

That is me. I reach, I reach, and always fall.

You are the book I read, but cant finish.

The song I write, bent over the paper, in the dark of night.

The one I cant bear to sing, for fear of falling further.

But through out the agony, I always catch my breath.

You're pulling me too far under,

Each moment I loose more and more,

I'm crying out for help, when none is offered.

You pulled me under, now I'm sinking.
