Chapter Seven: Home Pt. 2

Jo turns around and with a shocked expression on her face.

"See, I knew this was too good to be true," the soft voice says while pointing her finger towards the younger woman.

"Baby it's not what..." Kassie tries to explain again but gets cut off.

"No? I think it is, isn't it?"

The women are standing a few feet apart. Both trying to gauge the other's thoughts.

Just as the event planner get ready to speak up, the same voice that got them in this situation speaks again.

"OH MY GOD! You're Jo," Mo says out loud.

Just as she finishes her statement the elevator door sings and out walks the other ladies carrying both the food and liquor in their hands.

Jo and Kassie are still standing close to each other but not speaking. They are just staring into each other's eyes. Both are too afraid of saying something that the other one might take wrong.

"Bitch! I know that's not Jo," Lauren says loudly.

"OMG! Bitch it is!!!" Gizelle says as they excitedly start walking towards the couple.

"STOP!"

Kassie yells as she holds up her hand to stop her friends.

The women halt and look at the event planner.

"I need for all of you to go inside. Please. I need to speak with Ms. Jo, privately," she says as she continues to look the singer in her eyes.

She's still trying to read her thoughts, but Jo is giving Kassie nothing.

"OH! She's your new client!"

Regina says as they are trying to figure out why the singer is standing in her friends' doorway. With a luggage, which Kassie just notices as the woman in front of her reaches for the handle.

"Yes."

Kassie says. Jo mouth goes into a tight line.

"I mean, no...it's uh... she's."

Kassie exhales a reply and look to the red head who is just standing there looking at the two women.

"Amber...please," is all Kassie says.

The red head notices the tone in her best friend voice and knows that now is not the time to be playing.

With that said, she ushers the other inquisitive women inside the luxury apartment.

Kassie notices Mo looking at the two women questionably before quickly going inside.

The curly head woman steps closer to Jo. The woman doesn't move an inch.

Kassie inwardly says "yes" in her head as she gets right in front of the woman.

"What are you doing here?"

Is the first thing she ask the singer.

She can't help but to look the woman up and down.

Jo has on some tight light blue jeans with some grey high heeled boots and a white Capri style shirt.

Her brownish red hair is in a high bushy ponytail and all Kassie can do is notice how tight all the clothes fit the athletic frame of the singer.

"I wanted to surprise you. I have the weekend off and I had to come see you, but clearly, you're a busy woman. I obviously am interrupting something. I should go," Jo replies softly.
