He is presented with a dozen of women to choose from but his eyes land on the beautiful 'girl' filling tables with food. He asks for that 'girl' instead but is told that 'girl' is a boy. Also told he's off limits but is he really??
Who is a Gisaeng? They were women from outcast or slave families who were trained to be courtesans, providing sexual services to men of the upper class, as well as providing entertainment and conversation. They were the government's legal entertainers, required to perform various functions for the state. Many were employed at court, but they were also spread throughout the country. They were carefully trained and frequently accomplished in the fine arts, poetry, and prose, although their talents were often ignored due to their inferior social status. Aside from entertainment, these roles included medical care and needlework.
Gisaeng's children automatically become Gisaengs when they are older. Mostly girls though. There was never a rule for boys. (It was only girls but for this ff let's say there wasn't a rule for boys)
