Part 2: Names & Proposal

Five held a small box in his hand, smiling softly at it. His hands were starting to sweat, so he naturally ran his hand on his pants. He glanced over at Nine who was busy reading the book that they had found from months ago. He frowns at the sight of it. It was Vanya's book.

He swiftly hid the small box in his pocket, carefully not making any awkward noises. He walks over to the girl, "Why are you reading that again?" He watches her placed the book on her lap, closing it. Nine looks up at him, "Why is your face red?"

"W-what?" Five stutters, shaking his head. "You didn't answer my question."

Nine lets out a small giggle, causing him to grin widely. Suddenly, her reaction changes. Five couldn't help but frown. Nine sighed, "I wanted to know how Ben died, but she never really explained it anywhere in her book."

"Oh, love," Five whispers out, and took a seat besides her. He doesn't hesitate on wrapping his arms around her. "I know it's been hard for you."

"It's just... Ben's my best friend, besides you, Klaus, Diego, and Vanya that is. It broke my heart when I read that he had died. We could've been there, you know? We could have saved him." Nine admits, biting her quivering bottom lip. Her fingers starts to shake in nervousness, and she quickly forms her hands into fists.

Five went silent. It's something he does when he doesn't know what to say next but understood her every word. He waited patiently for her to say her next sentence, but after a few minutes had passed, he decided to spoke up and change the subject. He clears his throat, "Nine... Do you want children?"

Nine's eyes widens, pulling away from his embrace. She gave him a surprised look. She never thought he'd bring that up. They're only 19 years old, and their next birthday is only months away. Although she knew they were at the right age, but she was worried on caring for a child in the state they were in. Everything was still a wreck around them. But of course, she wanted children or at least have a child if it were with him. She still can't help but feel a little bit worried at some point. "I..." Nine hesitates. How can she tell him?

Five gives her a hopeful look, his chest tightening in nervousness. A few drops of sweat starts falling down from his forehead to his neck. He scans her face, and begins to doubt himself. He opens his mouth to dismiss the subject, but was cut off when Nine reached her hand towards his face, caressing his cheek.

"Of course I do, if it's with you."

Five lets out a sigh of relief. He placed his hand on top of hers which was placed on his cheek. "But...?" Five mumbles. He knew there was a catch. He had noticed her surprised look, and nervous stares. "It's okay. You can tell me, sweetheart."

"Well..." Nine gives him a small smile, "I don't think it's right to raise them in a state like this. We're a mess." Five furrows his eyebrows, frowning. It was true, and he knew it as well. He was contemplating on the pros and cons of raising a child while everything else around them is a complete mess. They would be missing a lot of needed materials in order to raise a child properly. And, they sure as hell know that they wouldn't be able to find suitable baby materials in the wreck. No carriages, no toys, no diapers. That was indeed, a fact.

"You are right about that," Five chuckles, hiding the sadness from his voice. He wanted the best for her, and for their future children. Sure, he felt sad because she was a little hesitant, but she didn't refuse him. And, that's one thing. He thought to himself, and finds the right words to ask next. "Well, if we were to have children, what name would you want them to have?"

Nine starts to blush at his words. 'Children? He wants to have more than one?' She thought to herself. Five watches her bit her lip, and chuckles. "Um, I don't trust myself with names, you know that, right? But, if it's a boy, I like the name Noah."
