"Who are..." was all I managed to get out before I was whacked over the head and knocked out.

I woke up in a strange, dark room, at what seemed to be a few hours later. I tried to get up, but quickly realized that I was somehow shackled to the wall by the tight handcuffs around my wrists. So, I sat back down and let my eyes adjust to the darkness. As they adjusted, I could vaguely make out a dark figure in the corner a few feet from me.

"Castle?" As I said that, I heard a grunt come from the figure. "Rick? Is that you? I can barely see."

"Huh? Oh yeah, Kate. It's me. How hard were we partying last night?" He said in his usual sarcastic tone. Normally, I would have laughed, but now was not the time to be joking around.

"This isn't a time to be messing around. We need to figure out where we are, and what happened to us!"

"Sorry." He muttered. "Uhm, what do you remember last?"

"Not much. I just remember being in the loft, hearing sounds and thinking it was you, and then it went dark."

"I'm about the same. I remember I was just about to walk in, and then turned around and saw a face, and then blackness."

"Did you recognize the face?"

"Well, I don't know. He looked really familiar, but I didn't have enough time to think before I was knocked out."

"Okay, so it's a he. A familiar he." I said to myself, trying to think. "What did he look like?"

"Dark hair, dark eyes. Kind of a medium build, I think." As he was telling me this, I was trying to make connections in my mind, but I couldn't think.

"Yeah, I can't think of anything right now. I'm still groggy from being unconscious for that long."

"Yeah, me too." He said. "And I'm hungry."

As he noted that, my stomach also input it's thoughts on the matter with a loud growl. "I could eat."

After we had both said our complaints, I saw a small door open, and a tray with two sandwiches and complimenting water bottles, and a little kerosene lamp slide in. As soon as the tray was in, the door closed, and I heard it lock.

Castle and I both exchanged glances before crawling slightly towards the food.

"Peanut butter and jelly" I said as I examined the food. "And a key." I noted, as I unlocked both of our handcuffs.

"You think it's okay to eat?"

"Yeah, it's probably alright." I said, sniffing my sandwich. "Why would they go through all of that trouble of kidnapping us, just to poison us here, first thing?"

"True." He said as he picked up his sandwich and took a small bite out of it.

I ate my sandwich up as soon as I had also convinced myself that it was okay. And I was, for some reason, still absolutely starving.

"Damn, you ate that fast!"

"And I'm still hungry." I groaned as I put my hands over my stomach. As I did that, I suddenly realized why I was so hungry, and so did Castle.

"Here, have some of mine." He said, handing me half of his sandwich, his eyes still on my slightly swollen belly. Normally, I would have rejected. It was just that this time I was so hungry, it almost hurt. And I also had to remember that I wasn't just caring for myself now.

"Thanks." I said. "The baby thanks you, too." I said with a smile. It made him smile too.

"Well, we have to remember, that even though we're kidnapped, you are still eating for two." After I finished eating the second sandwich, we curled up in a ball together, and fell back asleep.
