"I'm pregnant."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What?" Well, I guess Ryan hadn't figured it out. He was surprised, shocked really. He should've known it was going to happen someday, especially now that Castle and I were married. I guess he just didn't expect it so soon after the wedding. Neither did I, to be honest.
"I'm, I'm pregnant. And you're the first to know, other than me. You can't tell anyone!"
"But at least Gates should know." God, I love him like family, but Ryan has got to get over telling Gates everything!
"No! Absolutely not! If she finds out, she'll put me on desk duty! And I will certainly won't be able to investigate into this... case, without her noticing!" I was about to freak out again. I hadn't even really thought about that yet. This was a really big deal.
"Okay, just calm down, Beckett. I won't tell anyone, not even Gates. Sit down, you're starting to hyperventilate." Was I really that bad? I guess I am, so I sat down, like he said.
"Let's just stop talking about it for now. Let's concentrate on finding Castle, so I can get a better grip on that situation."
"Okay. You ready to go back in there?" Ryan asked reluctantly, since he just saw me go into a full panic attack, which was rare for me. I would feel the same way if I were him. But I'm not.
"Yeah, I, I think so." I said as I got a handle on my breathing. And I was relieved to notice that I had stopped shaking.
As we walked back into the interrogation room, I tried to walk, and act, totally confident, even though I was far from it at this moment. I barged into the room, and went badass. That was the only way I was going to get this guy to talk, was to scare him.
"Look, I don't have anything to tell you." Hmm, already off to a rough start. He's going to regret saying that.
"Tell me what you know or I am going to make your life a living hell. Trust me, I can." I started out soft, but I could tell things were about to get heated.
"You know what? I think I want my lawyer now." He pulled the lawyer card. Dumb move. There was no way I was giving him a lawyer. I didn't care if I got in trouble. He was about to find out.
"You want a lawyer?!?!?" I yelled as I threw the pictures of the crash in his direction. "I could care less! You see those pictures there? There were no people. Now I need you to tell me what you know, and I'm gonna find them."
"Alright, alright!" I did it. I was gonna get some information out of this guy, finally. It would be helpful to have a name too...
"I saw a large group of people running, towards the road. Some of them were wearing parachutes still. I saw one guy leading them, kinda helping them out. He said something about finding a payphone, so they could call his wife. Said she was with the police." That would be Castle. I breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that he was okay.
"Okay. Anything else?"
"Yeah. There were a couple guys, two I think, maybe three. They came running by a few minutes after the other guys. They had guns, and looked like they were looking for the other people."
I sucked back in my breath of relief. How the hell did they get guns on an airplane? At least we were closer to finding Castle. And, if he was alright, I should be expecting a call from him soon.
"Okay, thanks. Could I get your name?"
"Uh yeah. John Grover." Huh. That name sounded familiar, but I couldn't figure out from where. I'll get it later.
"Thank you, Mr. Grover." And with that, I left. I was getting closer to finding Castle- my husband, and the future father of my baby.
