Waking Up and Meeting Lil

(Tony's POV)

'Please. Please wake up! Please let him wake up.' I think as Pepper and I stand to the side of his bed and watch him. Then ever so slowly his eyes open.

"M-m-mom? D-d-dad? Wh-wh-what happened?"

"You're heart stopped bud. You died on us."

"What? I... died?" I nod and Pepper grabs his hand and starts crying. "Mom. Mom i'm ok. Mom I'm fine."

"I know. I'm sorry. I just thought I lost my baby." She starts crying more and he pulls her down into a hug even thought it pains him.

"Shhh. Shhhh mom i'm ok. Mom i'm ok i'm not going anywhere. It's ok mom." He says softly as he comforts her. He gently kisses her head and she stands with a tear stained face.

"Please don't scare me like that again." SH says holding tight to his hand. He chuckles.

"I'll try."

~~~(A few hours later, still Tony)~~~

I sit back and watch as Pepper tries to get Aaron to eat. I chuckle at her attempts because She is actually trying to feed him like a baby. And just like he did when he didn't want to eat when he was two he clenched his mouth shut.

"Aaron come on. You have to eat."

"I'm not hungry mom. Honest."

"Please just eat something. The doctor says that if you don't start eating they are going to have to put you on a feeding tube." Aaron hasn't really ate anything since before the treatment. And that was 3 days ago.

"Mom anytime I eat I end up throwing up."

"Please just a few bites. Please." She pleads with him and he finally gives in and eats. Trying not to gag while he does. After about 12 bites of what ever the meat on that try is suppose to be. Wait is that meat or  something else? I don't know. Anyway after about 12 bites Aaron turns away and curls into a ball. He is more brave then I. I don't think I would have even eaten 1 bite of that stuff.

"Aaron. Sweety what's wrong?"

"My stomach hurts. I think i'm gonna-" I know what he is about to say and I quickly grab a trash can and just as I do he loses everything in his stomach plus some. I rub his back as he pukes. That's all I can do. He finally is able to stop puking and he sits back and Pepper being the mom she is cleans him up as I move the trash can after putting gloves on. Pepper sits with him and then gets a call.

"I'm sorry sweety, I have to take this."

"It's ok mom I understand. Go on." She smiles and kisses his head.

"My baby is being so strong." He smiles and she leaves the room and he turns and looks at me.

"What's on your mind dad?" He asks his voice hoarse and I shrug. I don't know what i'm thinking honestly.

"I don't know."

"Come on dad. You have to be thinking something. About this."

"I really don't know. I mean you scared us when your heart stopped but now I just feel........" I fade out in what I was saying.

"Numb?" Aaron finishes. I nod.

"Yeah."

"I know. That's how I am. I really don't know how to react anymore. Especially after that dream."

"What dream bud?" Aaron sighs and tells me his entire dream. "Oh my gosh! Wait. When the wolf attacked you and you gave up. I think that's when your heart stopped. But what gave you hope? What did you see in that rainbow in the sky?" He smiles.
