Athena POV...
"Do you feel at peace?"
"I do," I said to Alec, "but it still doesn't change the fact that people will die because of me, I wish there was some way I could stop that."
"But you can't, death is inevitable."
"I know but, I don't want to believe that, I don't want to kill unless I have to."
"But either you want it or not, you will, we will, it's either kill or be killed," Alec says before there was a knock on my door.
I open the door revealing Marcus, "what do you want?"
His smile fell, "I was wondering if you wanted to go on a walk with me, I realize that you haven't seen the entire palace yet and I wanted to give you a tour."
"I've been here since summer, its fall, I'm good," I was about to slam the door in his face until he put his foot in the way, "I will shoot an arrow in your foot move."
"Please?" I could see him breaking down his walls and letting me in, "just give me a chance."
"He is your mate."
"Not by choice."
"Fine, show me the east wing, the portion that is restricted.
"I can't."
"Fine then goodnight," I was about to close the door again until he put his foot in the way again stopping me.
"Fine."
He had ordered the guards on the east wing to give us the privacy that we needed. The silence between him and I held too much tension, we had so much to talk about yet nothing was said. We were crossing the bridge that separated the castle to get to the east wing.
"I can feel the awkwardness all the way from here, maybe you should try talking?" Alec tuned into my head saying.
"Even a wall has more character than him right now."
"Did you hear what I asked you?" I look up at him.
"No, I didn't."
"How are you enjoying this dimension?"
"I haven't seen much of this dimension enough now have I, or are you forgetting that since my little adventure you have guards watching my every move or did you think I wouldn't realize?"
"You're not gonna make this easy for me now are you?"
"Why should I?" I asked him.
He gritted his teeth, "do you know how many women would love to be in my presence and in your position right now."
"And do you know how many men would want my hand in marriage?" I stopped walking with him, "you are insolent, you are self-absorbant, you are selfish, you are cocky, you are pathetic, you think the world revolves around you, but it doesn't, you may think that you are a humble man but you are arrogant, this is why I'd much rather date a man your kind classify as a wild animal than to date your inferior ass."
The wind around us was picking up but soon I had forgotten about my powers and I was too worked up with Marcus, "when I left, you were all I thought about, I yearned for you, I actually missed you just for you too look me in the face to tell me this," my hands were starting to heat up, "and to think I was going to break it off with Blake to be with you, because it hurt me knowing I was hurting you, but hearing this come from you I realize that you're just full of it."
The ground below us started to quiver, "I sent guards to search for you."
"And when I came back you gave my best friend and my only friend I've been able to make the death penalty, do you really believe you deserve a thank you."
"I was afraid she had done something to you."
"And how were you going to get answers if she's dead?" A lightning bolt flashes across the sky, "you are so violent you feel like the first thing to do to resolve a problem is to reck havoc and to disrupt peace, have you ever thought that maybe the reason I left in the first place was because of you?" Stormcloud formed over our heads.
"Because that is all I've known!"
"You have been around for more than 200 hundred years, you have seen wars started and ended, kingdoms resenting each other, and crumble just to build themselves back up to one day become peaceful and you come with this bullshit notion that you have never thought about seeking peace from within yourself."
"Maybe that's how God made me."
"God never made anyone evil, people choose to be, you chose to be selfish, you chose to be sleeping around with women the first day I came, yes I knew about that, people talk, unlike you I have tried to create a closer relationship with the people that you see as peasants but I see their worth, I see them, ME A GIRL WHO CAME FROM A DIMENSION WHERE THERE IS NO TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT SAW THEM!"
"Breath Athena," Alec says as he came from the shadows towards me, "relax you cannot afford to reveal your powers, you do not know who is your enemy, just breath."
"Okay, I'm good."
"No you're upset and that is okay, he doesn't deserve you, the world doesn't deserve to be saved but yet you will because everyone deserves mercy, even when they are arrogant," Alec says to me.
I looked in the palm of my hands and realized that they were starting to glow.
I released a sigh, "you and I are different, we think differently, but unlike you I have an agenda to be the greatest queen like my grandmother was, which she did all by herself after my grandfather died, while raising her son, so no if we were to call this sham of a marriage off I wouldn't cry, nor feel broken I would come to the conclusion that I will rule greater than any that have lived with or without you."
"Athena I'm_"
"I think it's best that I say goodnight, I have a few test in the morning that I've yet to study for."
I turned around to leave, "Athena ple..."
"I will see you the morning Prince Marcus," I said bowing my head to him and pass my hand through Alechimus' fur to relax myself.
