The multicoloured portal opens, "run in, I can keep it open for long."
Marcus hops through the multicoloured portal with Alechimus behind him and the portal slams shut behind them as if it was a door, sending a gush of wind knocking Brittney off of her feet. Micheal grabs her up and pulls her into his chest, "Don't," she snaps.
"I know you can't stand me right now, but I promise I'll be there for you even when you don't want me to." Brittney looks away in annoyance, though she was taken aback by his remark.
But behind the invisible barrier Marcus and Alechimus looks around as if it was a different dimension, or a different world. When they entered the chanting stopped and was now replaced with the beating of drums and hums from the cloaked men. Marcus looks off into the sky and realize that the moon was closer than the norm. The trees were set on fire, but they weren't burning, but the scene that shook both of them to the core was seeing Athena's lifeless body. Her hand dangled off of the pillar, it took everything out of Marcus not to rip everyone apart.
His chest tightened, he was angry at himself, because he felt as if he was late, until he saw it. It was faint, it was a small twitch in her pinky finger. The pillar beside her Blake was sitting looking up at Marcus in awe, because he thought Marcus would never find a way in but yet here he was. Athena sat up, but it was if it was in a horror movie. She was covered in blood, there was something different in the air, there was something different about her Marcus thinks to himself. The humming from the cloaked me started to get lower and filled with bass.
Marcus was not aware of his heavy breathing until Athena snapped her head in his direction and took in his appearance, she could feel it the draw. Marcus approaches her slowly, slowly she climbs down the pillar and approach him, with each step the ground beneath her quivered. She walks by the cloaked man that was still standing over her pillar. She caressed Marcuses cheek before she shifts the earth beneath him moving him out the way.
She walks towards Blake, where she embraces him, and caress his face. The humming of the cloaked men humming got loader signalling the end of the ceremony.
"I know you would have choose me," Blake whispers in Athenas ears, as looks up at Marcus and gloat.
Marcus stood there in disbelief as he watch the love of his life being whisked away with someone else. He didn't know how he would be able to live with himself to watch them together, but at the same time he couldn't move, it was if he was glued to the spot.
But there was still something wrong, the air around him became still, and everything became quiet. Athena looks up at Blake, "the reason why," she moved her hand from his cheek and trailed it down to his chest, resting her hand there. Her eyes focused on a vein that was pulsating on his neck, "I came over to you because you have something that I want."
"My love for you?" He asks.
"Close," she says nodding her head, "I want your heart," the smile on his face drop when she looks up at him. Her nails sank into his chest, as she raised her left hand into a tight fist causing the cloaked men to starts choking.
"I showed you kindness, I showed you compassion, I listened to you, I laughed and what did you do, you plot and you try to own me!"
When she drop her hand to her side the cloaked men, all fell unconscious, "now that you have my undivided attention, it's time for me to take what you stole," she sank her hand into his chest.
Blood starts to seep from his chest and back into her, "instead of having me fall for you, you chose to do this big fiasco not knowing I quite enjoy theatrics, now" the way how each word rolled off of her tongue, it sounds like she was casting a spell. Each word that she articulates echoed and the earth tremble. She tightens her grasps on his chest, "now let me show you how it's really done," the voice that came from her was not one that Marcus was familiar with, the voice that came from her was mature, older and wiser.
Marcus and Alechimus stood there not knowing what to do, and just watch everything playing out in front of them. "You had them stab me, repeatedly, I could feel myself dying over and over again, but you didn't care because you wanted sweet revenge on my mate, saw their sins, their past everything, and I can never get rid of that," her voice was low, but you could still hear the anger and rage, "I will ask you one simple question," she took her left hand and grabbed him in his stomach and sink her finger in. Blake cries out in pain.
Blood started to seep from her and rush back into him, he took in a gasp of air feeling his inside twist, his heart felt like it was beating out of his chest. "Was it everything you desired?" His skin starts to rip, each time his wolf tried to heal him, another rip appeared. Alechimus starts to growl as Blakes wolf starts to appear and snarls at her. Marcus was about to grab Athena when halted in his steps in disbelief.
"Tsk tsk tsk, down boy," his wolf starts to whimper and hid away in the back of his mind, "I have no beef with you, I just need your host for a little while longer," Blake looks up at her in fear.
"Are you... going to kill me?" He asks. Every inch of his body was left with open wounds as blood gushed out.
"Why would I ever do that?" She asks as she tilts her head, "the only reason why I will allow your pack to thrive," she says as she releases him from her grip, he was about to pass out when Athena tilts his face to look up at him "is because you and I have a deal and I do intend on cashing in," she snaps her finger and when he passed out the cloaked me starts to wake up.
"Alechimus," Athena says, calling her protector to her side, "rise," the instance the words echoed out of her mouth the cloaked mean sprung to their feet.
"Now you all and I, have a score to settle," a menacing smile crawled on her face, and that was when hell broke loose.
